How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Everything was exceptionally on point, coming to this place is like a home away from always ....also tranquility is unmatched. Cecil and Annelie were accommodating and friendly hosts, and we felt right at home. The place was clean and comfortable, and we really enjoyed our stay.

I enjoyed my 4 day stay at the establishment. I enjoyed the owners personal touch service, as well a neat and tidy accommodation. What was shown on the pictures on the website was exactly what was in the room. The place is very central. Next time I am in Polokwane I will definitely be checking in again in this establishment.

It is a bit far and you have to be prepared to spend money on uber which makes the overall expense higher for more than 1 day stay while moving around actively

The basin tap stopped working which made it impossible to wash our hands and brush our teeth.
The aesthetics were beautiful and well thought-out. Everything in the room matched the name of the place 'Serendipity.' It was calming and serene.

When arriving on the outside we were quite hesitant but i can proudly say that the rooms are ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! The beds are extremely comfortable, Shower is fantastic! Really great accommodation to stay at! Staff and Owners were very friendly! Will definitely stay there again!

Looooook the place is like mini heaven on earth, i went there just to get away from the kids for a day to push some of my accademic work look in no time i was done. God tge cleqnliness, maaan the tranquility, The staff hospitality. I am definately going back there again.

Only that there was loadshedding but that's beyond them I guess
Everything. I went there just to get some studying done. It looked like such a serene place to be at and I was right. It's just as it appears on the pictures. Value for money indeed. The No TV in the room setting works.

Air conditioning and a TV would really make your stay more comfortable.
Nice quiet area good for resting. The bed in the room is comfortable but a bit to noisy sound like something is broken.

This was my second time here and it was as Exceptional as the first. Cecil & Annelie are amazing hosts. The sweetest really. On my first visit, I was with my 1year old son(they had no problem accommodating him even though they do not allow children), they were so soo sweet to him, even picked him up. We were assisted with our bags to our amazing room. Spotless, cosy and comfortable. The bed is comfortable, we definitely had our beauty sleep. The room was well equipped, anything needed was provided. On our last day, Annelie offered us Oats 🥺for breakfast(mind you, they don't provide any). She really went above and beyond for us. And we appreciate it. This was my best stay ever, and I will be returning over and over again. Definitely the best place in Polokwane.

Grey is not my favourite colour, but the decor and furnishings are artistic, coordinated and comfortable.
Despite the budget price, the hosts have gone further than the extra mile to provide every possible convenience. On arrival, my room was not suitable due to health reasons, and the host upgraded me to an alternative, more expensive suite at no extra charge. The location is central but quiet. The garden is beautiful.

My Stay was absolutely Exceptional!! Communication was quick and easy. Annelie & her husband were absolutely amazing hosts. Upon my late check-in, my 1year old son & I were welcomed with so much care and enthusiasm. They helped me with my bags and Annelie even carried my son escorting us to our Absolutely Lovely room. It was so neat and homey. The bathroom was just beautiful. The Bed was Amazingly comfortable, my son & I definitely had our beauty sleep. Everything about the room was just carefully thought-out, beautiful & convenient, trust me you won't even miss the TV. I decided to stay another night because of work and I was super happy. Annelie was constantly checking up and making sure that my son and I are comfortable. I also requested an hour late check-out and Annelie was just a darling and didn't mind. She even offered us Oats for breakfast in the morning. 🥰 We certainly received 5star treatment. This for sure is my go to Accomodation in Polokwane.
