How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The checklist-sheets need to match what's exactly in the rooms and not include things that are not there
Place is very easy to find. Receptionist is very welcoming and friendly

Everything was in order, besides load shading which is every where
Breakfast was good, on top off that I don't eat pork , but they manage to get something for at a short notice

The apartments could have been better if they specious rooms, and the fact that we were offerred a breakfast and only became aware about the breakfast being booked in advance upon arrival.
I wouldn't comment about breafst because there was no offered for us and we were only made aware that we should have booked for breafast in advance upon our arrival. Nevertheless the place is very nice and appealing with nice and clean garden

Dstv - they should add 1 music channel atleast channel 320....n loadshedding it was too much but it was beyond the place control but the generator will do

The staff needs training.smile is very important, thanking the guest for visiting their place . Asking them to visit again. dress code also is important . Also when guest are asking for places of entertainment they should be aware of places around . Like there are lot of activities at oribi gorge. And its 39km away from their place.also game drives available, quad bikes ,zip liners . That should be available for guest. But they tell u we not from here we dont know. Please work on that other than that the place is beautiful and cute😍🥰

Staff lack of training and customer care. Lack of attention whilst speaking to clients. Portable cooler not working, initial room was cramped. Moved to another room with a working aircon and was much more suitable for 2 guest. Wifi not working in first room. Modem was put into second room. Deceptive advertising (B&B, Hotel, food, good wifi) Accommodation is a guest house, breakfast needs to be pre-booked Staff and a child relaxing and eating in reception area.
Structure, finishes and decor exactly like photos Staff pleasant Accommodation has great potential. Owner intervened telephonically and resolved some issues. The accommodation has great potential with improved onsite management and staff. Lovely toiletries, clean towels and fresh linen.

No air-conditioning!! The portable air cooler in the room was completely useless.

Navigation was tricky. Waze could not pick it up (Took us to the wrong place). Have to travel some distance to get to a restaurant.

At the price, air-conditioning is an absolute non negotiable in the hot KZN summer months. It was cool while I was there but knowing there is no aircon would keep me away in warmer weather.
The bed was incredibly comfortable. Everything I needed was there and it was spotless! The staff were very warm and welcoming.

Some rooms are closer to the dinning room and the noice from the dinning room can be quite disturbing when you what some quietness. They need to work on some sound proof of some sort.

The place was not value for my money! The rooms were too small with limited movement. The property must consider renovating their place to create bigger rooms, and they have a bigger yard which gives them the full potential to enlarge the rooms. Currently the rooms accommodate slender people, and the shower door was a nightmare to enter, that's how small the space was!! The Wi-Fi connection was very bad even the kids were complaining! They need to upgrade to have full proper connection and coverage.

Room was small, bed was squeaky.
Located by the beach. Helpful staff (apart from the issue with the guy mentioned below, being nice does not excuse distasteful behaviour)
