Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaWe slept at the tents, I didn’t like the fact that you have to drive to the main reception to get breakfast. There is no variation in the wildlife to see, so a game drive is a waste of time and money.
The reception area is beautiful and has beautiful views. Tranquil space.

South AfricaThe tent can be cold if you have to get up in the night, but it is a tent in winter. Not crazy about the shower in the tent. We struggled to control the water temperature.
Stopping at the gate, we were greeted and welcomed to the property. All the staff made you feel welcome and at home during our stay. The tents was clean and the setting was fantastic. We LOVED the giraffe that came to visit us in the hot tub, and the ostriches that came top say hi, while we had our morning coffee. Our romantic picnic was breathtaking to say the least.

South AfricaMy robe was dirty, my pillowcase was dirty, the bench outside was broken so couldn’t sit on it. This is not a self catering place, yet I had to drive and go get my own ice as the lodge didn’t have any and the only drinks available were Appletizer and Creme Soda.
It was quite and secluded. Perfect for a quick get away. The food was great and the staff was helpful.

South Africanothing really the manger was very accommodative to all the weather changes we experienced interns of activities. The only thing was that when a neighbouring guest plugged more than the standard phone laptop charger it would render the campsite without power because of the over loading. This is just a human experience and out of your control so you role with those. electricity was back at around 5am when staff was onsite which really helped.
It felt like you are in middle of the Lowveld in Mpumalanga meanwhile you are a stone throw away from Jhb. The dinner was great 3 course worth the R200 per head. We saw springboks, wilderbeast, pumba and giraffes. the evening was tranquil and what beautiful we planned to enter the new year in stillness and reflection and this property met that. I forgot to mention the stafff was really excellent felt lift you uncle and aunt you have missed with loving nature from serving us to starting up the hot tub. everything was exited with a love for their job

South AfricaWe booked our stay for two nights over the Christmas weekend, but left after only one night . - "Luxury" , "glamping" are very loose terms to be associated with this stay; there is no kettle in the room and we had to wait till eight the next morning for the staff to arrive, and had to ask for a flask to make coffee (no apology offered). The shower in the tent has no water temperature control. It is set for either ice cold or risk of getting 2nd degree burns. This is very dangerous. Lastly our tent could not zip close and we felt unsafe because of this and the fact that there is no lock. - We booked spa treatments and we were fully aware that the establishment does not have a spa on site. The treatment was set up in a room with glass doors in full view of the reception area. The staff did not understand that we needed privacy and was very reluctant to move the massage tables to more private area, (in their words "...lots of people have had massages in front of the glass door...")? - The food is at most mediocre. The establishment is very quick to remind you via whatsup to be at dinner / lunch / breakfast at a certain time, however serving was always at least 20 min late. We were not even offered any drinks during any of our meals. For the Christmas lunch we were forced to share a community table with other guests and were not given the option to enjoy our Christmas lunch privately. - There was a very disruptive and destructive giraffe in the camp site. When we asked for the security to remove this wild animal, we were told to do it ourselves. - The hot tub is basically a plastic bowl with oily warm water? The overall feeling we got from the staff was that they are doing us a favor in accommodating us during this festive time. This was confirmed in a text that we received from them that the staff "wants to spend time with their family, but they found it in their hearts to stay till 15:00"?!
Very friendly welcome from the guard at the gate - and that was it. This was THE ONLY staff member that was friendly and accommodating to us.
