Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsWhat a special time we had, we will never forget our days at Sibuya Forest Camp. The dedication and knowledge of the staff, the delicious food, the drinks, the beautiful and special location plus the wealth of wildlife we saw all contributed. Go if you can!

IrelandThey advertise fly fishing, but they absolutely do not do it. They have no equipment nor knowledge of fly fishing. The spinning gear they gave us was very old, and one rod did not have very much line on it, so it was kind of pointless. Very disappointing as the potential for fly fishing was one of the reasons we booked this particular trip. We had access to a boat dock for an hour to cast from, but it was not the best area nor conditions. Fishing advertisements are quite misleading. The staff could benefit from training on wines, I asked for a white wine which I was given at room temp no clue it has to be chilled or brought to you on an ice bucket at least, as it is summer time. There was a Dutch family staying there as well who asked for white wine, and they were given a bottle which had collected dust. When their son opened it, we were all hit by a waft of acidic weird smell. He took one sip, and his eyes watered. Don't get me wrong, the staff immediately changed the bottle, but for the money we spent, we expect a little better service than this. I stayed clear of wine from that point.
Loved most of the things about this place. nice place to unwind and appreciate the nature around you; beautiful bushlodge rooms with amazing views, the staff were very friendly, especially our guide, who went all out to make sure we saw all 4 of the BIG FIVE and loads of other animals. I also felt unwell and they provided a paracetamol for me which was a nice touch, The chef was very good with the variety of dishes provided throwing in South African classics like pap too.

South AfricaThe accommodation was great but, for the price, having stayed in plenty of game reserves, the room itself was underwhelming.
Beautiful game and the staff were fantastic. Matthew, our guide, was a pleasure to be around. He had plenty of knowledge to share and we really can’t speak highly enough of him - he was a big part of making the stay what it was. Food and general organisation ie timings etc we’re all very good. Communal area had a great feel to it and all the vehicles were clean and seemingly in decent condition. Very attentive staff.

NetherlandsOur overall experience was terrible, to name a couple of things: Firstly, the staff was unproffesional and awkward. Especially the guide, he tried talking the guests down. For example, he asked someone what do you do for work? Someone would answer and he would say, i hate ‘the proffesion’. And it was really intense to have to deal with him al the time, as you eat with them as well. The guides were tired all the time. He was sleeping during the Safari. We spotted the animals ourselfs (we thought we were good at it, but we did another safari at another reserve, and turns out we are not that good ;). Then the facilities, it was decent but limited. Not worth the price. For example, the water is not hot, so a warm bath is not an option. And if its raining you get a disposable poncho for the safari without sleeves. All in all its just not worth your money, there are other options which are so much better. We were so tired after this trip, we tried to make the best of it, but honestly it was a big dissapointment. Go to another accomodation. We were so happy that we booked at Botlierskop private game reserve as well, it is everything you wished for!! And the people and facilities there are lovely. They also take the care and protection of the animals very serious and there is a lot more to see!
Food was great. The animals.

South AfricaAll meals were low standard and buffet style. Rooms were cold. No plug points in the tents even though there’s a tea station but no kettle. Mosquito screen door came off and fell. One of the rangers sits and dines at the same table as guests which takes away the guests privacy.
Great views. Excellent ranger Ryan has a lot of animal knowledge
