Self catering. Facilities great but needs investment and attention. The power backup had run out owing to a power failure when we arrived, this meant that our fridge could not keep out frozen food cold. when I called the response was that the backup battery lifetime had expired

Only one thing stopped me from rating this 10 out of 10, and that was the large zebra skin on the floor. As an avid animal lover, it was the only thing I didn't like. Otherwise, all good.

Silver mist resort has beautifully, well laid out, secluded chalets with a great river view. As the name depicts, the mist rising off the river in early sunlight is spectacular. The chalets are modern and nicely furnished with all amenities you could hope for. We definitely recommend this lovely resort.

Lack of a more formal reception, was communicating with 3 different people over phone, that have yet to share information with each other by the time we spoke. Main sliding door needs repairs, safety concern.

The zink in unit 3 has a foul, drain smell so your fans needs to keep running otherwise the smell fills the whole unit.I had bicarb ask me why lol but it helped us. The guys taking care of the garden are also noisey before 9 am. We dont mind them working because the gardens are beautiful but shouting from one end to another so early not necessary. Your crokery needs an upgrade, you be surprise what beautiful modern crokery will do for your reviews. A couch rather than two one seaters will be a bonus. Our first interaction with reception wasnt very pleasant, to drive over 4 hours and be told they dont have a booking in your name because Bookings.com likes to double book... in the climate we living with fraud around every corner is not at all nice and then to be told Iam on lunch call after 14:00 pm made no sense to me as check in is at 2pm and we were asked to let them know 15mins prior to our arrival....and on top of that I am not sure if I was scammed because there is no booking in my name , which there was off course after the lady got my full names... to still wait is nerve wrecking to say the least. Ask the Customer for their full detaills before you conclude they dont have a booking.

The location is lovely. The daily wood supply is pure heaven more especailly with the weather we had. The servicing of the unit is a hell yeah and a bedding change lovely.

The staff did not welcome us, we had to check in via a security guard and figure everything out on our own. The WiFi was poor. Hot water not available in the morning

No electricity for 2 mornings in a row and no loadshedding either, the lightning was not so good, would have love if the patio was properly covered even when raining.

The kitchen lights weren't working. TV remote batteries were flat. Fishing pier right in front of the unit - random males always in front of the unit throughout the day. The kitchen counter felt rickety & unstable.

The Jettys at dam nr 2 and 3 are in bad shape and needs urgent attention.
