Breakfast was very good. There was a standard menu and a daily special. The food quality was very good and the service exceptional. There was both hot and cold options (or both if you were still hungry). I loved the poached egg and spinach on toast (daily special)

The Simbavati Hilltop Lodge is a very special location. Since the first minute we felt in love with this beautiful place within the Kruger Nationalpark. Welcomed by Brad, Caroline and the team directly let us felt at home. Our Lodge had a view into the wild. Lying on the day bed on the balcony was so relaxing. And we even could spot Giraffes and other wildlife. The Lodge itself was equipped with everything that is needed. Also the bathroom with the tube with a view and the outdoor shower was so special. Daniel was taking care of us during breakfast, lunch and dinner. By the way: the meals are incredible and Daniel is also a good bar tender. Always good for a joke. Rudolf and Thabo, our Game Drive driver and tracker, where incredible. They tried to fullfill all the wishes and yes, we saw the Big 5. Rudolf explained a lot about the animals and answered every question. Thanks again to the Simbavati Hilltop Lodge team for this "Once in a lifetime" experience.

Simbavati is a magnificent place. So quiet, scenic and luxurious. Brett and the team are an amazing bunch and took care of us as guests so well. We received the same hospitality that was afforded to international tourists which is refreshing. The tents are clean, comfortable and the outside shower is wonderful. The deck with private daybed overlooking the dam is so peaceful and relaxing. The food is tasty and personal service is attentive. The game drives we had with Josia and Derreck were undoubtedly the best safari experience we've had. We saw the big 5, and much more. As an overall package, the experience was well worth it and exceeded our expectations.

The walkways were a bit unstable. My husband is diabetic and not feeling stable at all times wasn't ideal. Also, at the end of our stay, one of our party members broke through a board in the walkway and needed stitches,

Our chalet was really gorgeous, beyond comfortable bed and facilities. But we felt that a little maintenance would be good eg the bathroom curtains really need cleaning, and all the curtains need to be hung properly… a minor but one can’t ignore it. The outside shower area is magnificent, but pretty cold for an after dinner shower esp in poor weather which we sadly experienced.

Stunning location, beautiful chalets, excellent amenities, great staff especially our ranger Colbert, what a wonderful knowlegable man. Fabulous dining area with superb meals, tho cold in the evening, a real treat at breakfast time being able to watch animals at the river daily.

Service is outstanding. They care for you during the hole day, paying attention to details. The lodge is gorgeous, the tents very private. Game drivers and trackers are the best!! Ours found the animals always the firsts and then they told to the other cars were the animals were, so an amazing experience. Breakfast very complete and with variety. Rest of the meals also quite good.

The exclusivity of the Timbavati private game reserve speaks for itself. You are truly in the wild but treated with all the modern amenities and services. Hippos grunt in the nearby dam and elephants roam close to camp. The game drives and the capabilities of the guide/tracker are unmatched. Within two nights we saw all of the big five, except leopards. They even managed to sight a chameleon perched on a branch at night whilst driving 20 km/h. Animals are generally peaceful and familiar with the vehicles so you can get get up nice and close. This is Africa in all her beauty and luxury.

Dinner on day 1 & 3 was in the boma area with other couples . That would of been great if we weren't on our honeymoon. A more intimate dinner would of been appreciated.
