Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe Wi-Fi in our room was a bit weak, but it worked most of the time and the Wi-Fi in the dining area and the general access areas was always fine. Due to the location, it can take a while to get an Uber (we had a car but did not want to drink and drive) but that is easy enough to solve by starting the Uber search 30 minutes or so earlier than you normally would.
This was our second visit in 4 years. The stay was just as amazingly wonderful as the first. The staff were phenomenally friendly and helpful, the guest house itself is immaculate and very nicely decorated, the breakfasts are very substantial and tasty, the location is amazing...it's in the countryside but within a few short minutes drive to some of the top Stellenbosch wineries (Tokara, Delaire Graff, Oldenburg, etc) and restaurants,

Belgiumeverything was perfect during our short stay.
What a haven of peace right next to Simonsberg. Once you're on the premises you're in a different place. Everything about the house, the garden and the scenery exudes calm and peace. The room (n°3) we were at had a little bathroom with a shower. The bed was comfortable and there is a lot of natural light in the room. The breakfast was fantastic!

United KingdomThe property is exceptionally beautiful with great views, and it’s also very close to some great wine farms. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff are fantastic. The staff can’t do enough for you they are excellent. There is a selection of food for your breakfast and they will also make you a cooked meal of choice too. The rooms are very bright although there is no upper curtains so it gets light in the rooms very early.

BelgiumEven though we had a fabulous stay, here are areas of improvements: The pool was not very clean, the room had no blinds (so we woke up at dawn) and we had to pay for water which we thought was not very generous.
The house is beautiful, comfortable room in the middle of nature and in a stunning environment. We strongly recommend making it your nest for a night or two while visiting the wineyards around!

NetherlandsThe house's sound-proofing was not great, so we could hear other guests as the moved around their rooms. Bizarre that drip coffee is included in breakfast but a cappuccino or latte are an extra charge.
Fantastic stay in the winelands. Close to many of the top wineries and about 10 minutes drive down into Stellenbosch city. The room was spacious and clean, and staff were friendly and welcoming. The pool area was lovely (with a nice view and comfy loungers!) and the breakfast offering was very tasty and diverse. It looks just like the photos and we always felt safe. The staff were especially accommodating of a late check-out, which was much appreciated.

GermanyThey only serve sweet breakfast bread (freshly baked and super delicious, but nothing for savory fans) - so maybe add one kind of non-sweet bread - even if its from the supermarket :-)
Beautiful little guest house with ultra comfortable beds, an amazing shower, beaufigul sorroundings and great staff! The common areas are beautifully designed and the garden very well maintained. Delaire Graffe and Tokara are just a stone-throw away and the always helped with organizing our transport. We felt like visiting friends and that's the best feeling you can have during holidays :-)

South AfricaAbsolutely lovely guesthouse with a great manager and super friendly staff that went above and beyond to accommodate our requests. The breakfast is prepared with a lot of attention to detail with freshly backed breads every day. The rooms are spacious and modern with adjacent bathrooms (however you should be comfortable around your partner as there is no door that can be closed between room and bathroom). The fact that the guesthouse has only 6 rooms makes it a very private and homey stay, where the manager still has time to interact with the guests. The guesthouse is perfectly located if you want to explore other wine farms as e.g. Tokara and Delaire Graff can be reached by foot and also the start of the wine tram in Franschhoek is just a short car ride away.

IrelandWe came to CapeTown for holidays and a wedding in Stellenbosch and the room was a little too small for our big luggage. We missed a bigger wardrobe to keep the room clean because there was not much space to put our clothes. The house does not serve lunch or dinner, which is a pity considering how good the breakfast is. In any case there are several farms and restaurants to go around.
Very nice people, delicious breakfast, very comfortable bed, beautiful house and garden.
