The location was stunning. The atmosphere was peaceful. We loved the property’s rustic beauty and comfort. The self catering facilities were well provided, including a gas bottle for power outages.

A peaceful and tranquil cabin situated right by a dam and surrounded by gorgeous karoo shrub land. You cannot help but unwind and watch the birds gather around the water's edge. A rustic feel with modern luxuries, the cabin was clean and very comfortable. Sunrises were to die for. Close to Oudtshoorn Town and other spots like the Cango Caves. I didn't want to leave!

The 2 rooms where not really separated. It was only an open thin little wall between the beds.

It was a lovely stand alone wooden house. With a balcony facing the lake. It had a beautiful view on the lake and the birds.

The cabins are quite close to each other and you can hear your neighbours very clearly if they are noisy. Unfortunately we had some noisy (fighting) neighbours on our trip.

The cabin was very spacious and had everything you need. Stunning balcony and the fire place is amazing

Close to neighbours so not great if they're loud. Close to the highway so civilisation is not completely escaped and forgotten.

The staff was extremely friendly and helped us make reservations to go see some wild meerkats and go for a star gazing experience here in the southern hemisphere. The food at the hotels restaurant was simply amazing! I highly recommend trying the ostrich steak, it was absolutely delicious!!

The cottage wasn't ready for us when we got there although these things happen and it was rectified quickly, together with a bottle of wine to apologise, which was appreciated. We had to ask for little things like soap and towels - the rest was fine. It seems a tad run down and as if nothing has been spent on the upkeep for the past decade or so. Mosquito nets had some spots on them and a hole so it won't be very effective. The holes in the fireplace worried me as a snake could come indoors in the winter through the holes where the cement has fallen off. Bathroom needs a revamp with the shower area seeming a bit run down.

The setting and the views are incredible.I am sure it will be great during winter months.If you like nature this one is for you. I can see this working for a group of people who are budget conscious and who will enjoy the stoep area and indoor fireplace.

Had to get Google to move the reference point so that one gets to the correct entrance road to the property. There are several maintenance issues in the unit that need attention. Lights out side that do not work, deck light fitting missing, taps that turn in the basin. These were minor issues, which we lived with. The AC that was not working was a huge issue though and kudos to Theo for his responsiveness to get that resolved especially at this time of year.

The Self Catering unit is if decent size and well equipped for that requirement. The staff were very responsive to fixing the issues we had with the AC.

Opening the back door and overlooking an amazing view. Peace and quiet. The friendly staff who were helpful. Delicious breakfast in front of the fire, awesome. Amazing experience
