Burger and Aletta went above and beyond to help, from the booking process to helping us with a tyre problem. The cottage was of a high standard with air conditioning in the Upington heat and for us, just far enough out of town. Highly recommended.

It is a working farm but as soon as the workday ends the tranquility sets in. We sat on the stoep in the evening and looked at the stars and enjoyed the peace and quiet. The unit was well equipped with comfortable beds and quality linen. Airconditioning throughout was an added bonus.

It was perfect!

Our hosts Burger and Aletta went out of their way to accommodate our small family reunion. We wanted the perfect uninterrupted setting, and Sterrenhemel surely delivered. With more than adequate facilities and picture-perfect views and lovely long walks with family! It was perfect... could have stayed there for much longer!

You look over some sheds... some people may not like this

The owner met us to take us to the property and showed us around. Very friendly and great accommodation for our stay. Well equipped kitchen with a washing machine, fire wood available to use and nicely presented property.

The hosts were very communicative and friendly. The cottage had everything you could possibly need, was very clean and felt homely. Nice touches included binoculars and a bird book, complimentary fire wood and lovely photos of the property in the lounge room.

Only one shower for a five/four bedroom house seems to be an off ratio, but we managed. No signal or any connectivity during load shedding may be problematic for some.

The night sky was amazing, and the lack of power during load shedding actually compliments it. Hosts were very friendly and considerate. We enjoyed the fire pit and beautiful view in the morning.

Incredibly beautiful setting, looking down over the vineyards,Pecan plantation and the vastness of the Kalahari beyond the Orange River.

Burger and Aletta are amazing hosts, excellent communication prior to our trip and a very warm welcome from Burger when we arrived. Excellent accommodation, on a beautiful farm and access to the orange river. I would highly recommend staying at Sterrenhemel if you are in the uppington area.

I liked everything about this place! The attention to detail is impressive, with anything one might need right at hand,the hosts are great and communicative and the views and peaceful setting is beyond compare! What a pleasant surprise I had: it turned a business trip into a fantastic adventure!

Stunning grape farm and mountain surroundings close to the Orange River. Very neat and clean luxury units with all the features you need to have a great stay and relaxing experience. The Hosts are very accommodating and friendly and the area is beautiful.
