How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The wifi worked in certain parts of the apartment and the tv channels were a bore. Didn't bother me too much though because we were out most of the time.
The apartment was home away from home. We had WORKING aircons which was truly a blessing! Thank you. We had privacy and felt safe which is so important for my family and I. The staff were helpful and the beach was a stroll away.

Not accomodation related. The public way to the beach (very close) was sadly full of waste and old and new rubbish, broken glasses etc.

The air-conditioned in the main room didn't blow cold and the remote for the TV didn't work at all, one couldn't change the channels.
We loved the entire place, it was great value for money. The swimming pool was the bonus.

Only issue was the slow Wi-Fi and that the remote did not work.
The place was perfect and clean. Loved that we had a private pool and swam alone as a family. Sis' Gugu was my favourite. Such a lovely lady! I will definitely come back.

A little noisy.

The entertainment area is not cleaned and maintained. There no signal and the wifi did not work from the room. There was no bath towels supplied and no refresh towels given during 4day stay.
The view is amazing and accommodation is close to the beach.

Some guests were very noisy and inconsiderate. The network was very poor.
I loved the sea view more than anything. Good location and is very close to most amenities.

WIFI connectivity was very low. Damp in rooms (cupboard and ceiling) - not major, but ventilation needs to be looked into.
I absolutely loved the peace and tranquility of the property, the incredible views, private pool (very well maintained), fresh sea air, accessibility to the beach and shops around the corner. This was a wonderful stay, although too short - the cleaners and receptionists were very friendly. Both night time receptionist (forgot her name) and Gugu - are such gems, very friendly, helpful and efficient. Will definitely be back.

The only thing that really bothered me There is no access to the beach. There is a Broken gate but it' Locked By the swimming pool. I don't like Going Out in the street to go to the beach. I really hope they can fix that. And put in a pin access or a token access on that smal gate

The place must atleast have a lift to get upstairs. It became very difficult for us to carry stuff to the braai area, also the tiles outside are very slippery when it rains , my child fell 2 times.

Bedding and towels is very old and 'hard', not comfortable at all. Need to drive to a swimbeach or take about a 1.5 km walk.
Spacious and modern. Loved the private pool area. Nice location for sight seeing, close to everything.

When alittle busy it gets abit noisy but it's not bad at all.

The fact that I had to pay R500 upfront I knew nothing about, TV was not working and guy who was called had attitude and said he can't do anything about a TV being blurry. Requested when booking to have double beds on all the rooms of which we didn't and when staff was called to sort that out, she came and just pushed the single beds together didn't even bother to make the bed or give us linen suitable for combined beds.
