Virginia is a great host and goes out of her way to ensure you enjoy your stay and you have everything you need. A fully equipped cottage with a nice view and private garden - next time we hope to stay longer to sit around the fire-pit at night.

The cottage was beautiful and John and Virginia were very nice and welcoming hosts. The view from the cottage over the mountains is amazing! We also loved that you get the whole farm experience, the ducks and chickens were running around right in Front of our window.

We absolutely loved the place! A very neat little cottage nestled in the southern drakensberg. Virginia and John were the best hosts, always checking in on us and going the extra mile to make our stay comfortable. The cottage was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed. Underberg is central to many different activities around you, like horseriding, hikes and of course the magnificent sani pass, don't forget your passports if you want to cross the border. We highly recommend sunset view cottage, it's the perfect couples getaway

Absolutely stunning! This property exceeded all expectations! The hosts, Virginia and John went above and beyond for us and were so accommodating, and their three gorgeous doggies were a huge bonus. If you love comfort, a mountain view and animals, this place is the place for you. My wife and I frequent Underberg quite often and have stayed in plenty places, and we can easily say that this was our favorite place of them all. We will be back for sure!

All the animals made the place beautiful to stay. Waking up to feed the chickens and borrowing the dogs for a walk down to the river was wonderful. Virginia and John were great hosts, lots of helpful information, including a hand drawn map for the journey onwards. Highly recommend staying here, wish we could have stayed longer

We liked everything about Sunset View Cottage. The hosts are exceptional, and the cottage is very well equipped with everything you might need. We also didn't know when it was loadshedding - there is an inverter setup, gas-stove, and generator. The cottage is very well insulated, too. We loved all of the animals - they contributed to our wonderful experience. Thank you, Virginia and John - we'll hopefully visit again soon.

Set in a beautiful location with quiet surroundings and all the comforts of home. The farm animals on the property added to the charm of the cottage. Our hosts were so friendly and helpful not only in attending to our accommodation requirements but also in pointing out where the areas of interest in the area were.

Beautiful location, absolutely perfect for some time out/away from the city. We got there a bit late, nevertheless Virginia still had a smile on her face, and was very helpful in assisting us with finding food in the area, much appreciated. Will definitely be going back for the beautiful surrounding spaces and comfort within the cottage, amongst other things. Try it out!!! it will be all worth it.

We should have stayed a week

Everything. The booking process was outstanding. Virginia could not do more to answer all my questions, kept me in the picture all the time. The cottage was beyond a 10, absolutely everything was available, even free fire wood. An outside and an inside braai. Spotlessly clean. A view to die for. One of the best places, if not the best one we've ever stayed.

The weather was a bummer.. We had rain and mist most of our stay, so we missed the mountain views. Will definitely be back soon to make up for it!

We had an amazing stay at Sunset View Cottage. The hosts are amazing and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and even assisted us with getting to the location. It is peaceful and beautiful, with friendly dogs and animals!
