One should know that this exclusive room is on the first floor. As a consequence one has to accept steep stairs. As that is mentioned on the website it should be not a problem. As we always travel with light luggage we could enjoy all the plus points of this location

Very spacious room with the balcony overlooking the Main Street of Prince Albert. The bathroom also well equipped and spacious. Safe parking space and a beautiful swimming pool. The dinner was great and a good selection of wines are on the menu. Breakfast offered all what we wanted.

Nice grounds and pool area, good location on Main Street with secure off road parking. On site restaurant has a good choice for evening meal. Breakfast was substantial and well presented. We wish we had stayed for longer

Old hotel, well kept and maintained, feeling of stepping back into the past but yet with all amenities available for present day travellers. Staff super friendly, breakfast was more than ample. Happy!

Nothing not to like. The bar area is also super with a great atmosphere where one can just enjoy the old school charm of a well put together hotel.

This is just such a charming old school hotel. Not a chain, where the unique character of the establishment is fantastic. Recently under new ownership / management, the facilities have been upgraded and the whole experience just gets better and better. We have stayed at the Swartberg Hotel many times and it just gets better and better.

I had the luxury room which was very dark with very little natural light. The terrace was not really comfortable to sit in. The room was made up, but the coffee was not replenished the next day and the towels were not fully replenished. They also did not replenish the bathroom shower and shampoo. I also did not have the mosquito mats replenished so had to buy my own.

First the good stuff, the staff are excellent, very friendly and polite wonderful. The pool area is very nice and comfortable.

The evening meal in the dining room was disappointing. We have stayed there before and eaten at the hotel. My husband ordered the chicken Alfredo pasta dish. It was dry, basically a bowl of pasta with chicken strips on top. My husband kept quiet so as not to spoil our evening. Burger at lunch was also undercooked. The last time we visited we really enjoyed the dinner and had really looked forward to eating at the hotel again. R25 for a bottle of sparkling water is also very expensive. We would stay at the hotel again, but consider other options for dinner.

Beautiful Karoo setting with the Swartberg as a backdrop. A beautifully restored Victorian building which is well kept and offers perfect amenities for a very comfortable stay.

On Sunday morning at about 8h30 the staff/ ground staff were a bit noisy outside the room for if guests would have wanted to sleep in.

The friendly staff and their willingness to go the extra mile for everything was wonderful, thank you. And the breakfasts are amazing!
