The pool area was a major highlight of our stay after a hot drive from Cape Town. We alos loved that the location is nestled in nature away from busy in-season towns

The road to get there is pretty rough (you don’t need a 4x4, but smaller cars aren’t going to love it) and there’s construction and stop/go which makes returning to the property a bit long so better to plan to be out all day. Other guests had dogs (and pretty well behaved ones) but not a fan of barking etc so while dog-friendly is a plus for some, not so much for me.

Lovely chalets, very grateful for the pool, canoing and hike. This would be so perfect for an extended family/big group of friends with a balance of communal and private space. Location was beautiful and quiet and great for December when the more central areas were very busy Enjoyed running in the area very much, and I’m sure mountain biking would be great.

1. 10km of gravel road to reach there:( But the road is being tarred, so will probably be better soon. 2. Very, very long walk to reach the rooms, no help available to offload and load our luggage. Only one unsuitable trolley available for the whole place - had to wait in the queue for our turn to use it:(

Beautiful location. Excellent pet-friendly accommodation. Rooms well equipped for self-catering. The Manager (Amie) was excellent in communicating with us - she was friendly and very helpful. Thank you Amie!

The walks could have been better signposted. We didn't know that we could canoe onto the Swartvlei until the very end of our stay.

Accommodation was really nice. Our dog loved the freedom to roam.

Most beautiful and tranquil setting. The units are well appointed and nicely decorated. The property is very well kept and very neat. Beautiful gardens and lovely pool area, would definitely suggest going there if you want to relax and recharge your batteries away from the madding crowds.

The communal kitchen needs to be cleaned better. Spider webs in the cupboards, the plates that are packed away are full of dust etc. The room floor was also not as clean as expected when checking in. Please update the booklet to let long staying guests know that the chalets are not going to be cleaned every 3rd day. But overall it was lovely staying there. Would certainly recommend to anyone.

The location was exceptional. Tranquil setting and lovely, quite area. Lovely staff and love the dogs coming to visit. Especially the lovely pointer.

The fridge/freezer was very noisy at night - earplug alert! :-) With GPS we found the property with no problem - the other family staying there lost their signal on the way and said it took them ages to find it (it's a little off the beaten track) - maybe some directions for guests would be helpful.

Set in large estate grounds - very scenic and safe. Easy parking. Had a back-up system to deal with load shedding. Very quiet but think there was only one other family staying there. Tastefully-furnished. Plenty of clothes storage. Lovely bathroom with good shower. We would like to have stayed longer.

It would be great if a chair could be placed inside the cottage so that one does not have to sit on the bed. A fan or air-conditioner in the room would be great especially during the humid season.

The lovely garden and that it was pet friendly. There are lots of short hikes to walk your dog. The cottage was clean and well equipped with what we needed for an overnight stay. The bathroom was awesome, 👌 grand and spacious.

Gravel road as we have small car but if you have bigger one it shouldn’t be an issue.

Beautiful and peaceful. Has pool, huge kitchen, braai, canoes (my favourite), pool table and much more. It is also between Wilderness and Sedgefield so we could do quite a lot of activities and visit many restaurants. Love that is pet friendly too.
