"The description of the room refers to a flat screen TV - no such thing in the room - and definitely was not needed. The bed (mattress) was one of the most comfortable ones I've slept on in any guest house. However the brick built in base is not practical - the second person has to "climb" over the person lying closest to the door.

The Meercat Cottage was a wonderful experience and one that all should enjoy especially as it is a pure example of beautiful old world charm. All the facilities were clean and well presented. The decor was stunning and reminded one of years gone by! I would most definitely stay at the property again however there are some minor "things" that need to be looked at - a rating of 10 would then be a "no brainer!! The fire place in the little entrance was is a WINNER especially in winter - loved sitting around it on the cold night we spent there. The outdoor shower, AWESOME too!!

Although we would definitely stay at TaMala again, we probably would book one of the other cottages, with the stoep looking onto the inner garden/courtyard. The stoep at Aloe Cottage looks out onto the road, and several times people stopped and asked for money/food at our gate. We'd prefer a more private outdoor seating next time.

Aloe Cottage was extremely comfortable, and beautifully decorated in a simple Karoo style, which we loved. There were lovely unexpected extras like fluffy bathrobes and Mungo towels, as well as rusks in the kitchen.

The decor is absolutely beautiful. The attention to detail is impeccable. Home away from home with a touch of rustic elegance. We loved this place and planning another trip to Prince Albert this coming winter...but for four or five nights! Ta Mala's is fantastic and highly recomended! They have thought of everything and those small touches really do add up. It's a wonderful historic house that the owners have loving restored and added modern day convenience and facilities! Can't wait to visit again!

We stayed in and had a braai - some more braai equipment (like an iron rod to use with the coals) would have been helpful. Something that might help future guests - there are some screws that goes right through the green front gate - not a crisis, but someone could hurt themselves if you put your hand over them to close the gate.

What a gem in a lovely little town. We loved everything about it and wished we could have stayed for longer. We arrived late on a Sunday afternoon and Erika was most helpful to direct us to shops that would still be open. Loved the cat, although she did not want to accept that she was not welcome to sleep indoors with us.

The location was perfect. Smooth check-in and check out, and I appreciated the SMS received from the owner to confirm our booking on the day of our check-in. I loved the outdoor shower that our unit had (Meerkat). It was lovely to shower looking at the stars at night.
