The apartment is in urgent need of renovation- the coffee table was broken, sofa could be cleaner, lampshades and tables scratched etc. There was a lot of confusion with reception because the apartment is privately owned - more communication of this ahead of time and better knowledge by the reception about what was arranged would be useful. Eg. We were charged many things on our bill that the apartment owner said was free, we were overcharged for breakfast. So we had to spend a lot of time sending emails to the manager for proof of what had been agreed etc.

Nothing to fault at this establishment, our booking had breakfast included in the price and there was some confusion over this, but it was resolved.

Absolutely everything was amazing!! From the moment we arrived at valet service.. the staff were very welcoming and suite we booked was just so beautiful! Breakfast was delicious! Location was so central even though we never left the hotel.. everything we needed including hotel facilities was right there! Our booking agent Kobus was incredible, He was so kind and professional and always a message away if we were not sure of anything, I will definitely make another booking in the near future!

I wish I could say something critical but everyone was lovely and I would stay at this residence over where we have stayed previously- the Gorgeous George and the Oranje (great, but not as good as this residence).

The location was superb and overlooked St. George's Mall. It was central to everything in Cape Town- including the Hop on, Hop off bus which round trips everywhere. The room is huge for the price. There is a full kitchen and clothes washing area. The jacuzzi and bathroom area fully accommodates two people. Kobus is an excellent host that can acquire whatever you need in a reasonable time. The hotel staff and amenities are top notch. We used the fitness room, pool, spa, business office, both restaurants, and the bar. The spa includes one of my wife's all time best experiences.

Cleaning staff were haphazard. Left empty packet's lying around. They didn't empty the kitchen bin. Didn't top up our tea and coffee either. We payed privately for the cleaning service. Very disappointed.

Unfortunately Taj has now become a place for big tourist groups. The hotel often felt overcrowded and extremely noisy. Guests were also rude at times and I could see it affected the service of staff. Service was slow and staff were often not friendly. We use to stay there often, but this is the second time in the last month I have stayed for business and unfortunately regretted my choice of accommodation...

Beautiful room with all the amenities you need. Lovely bar area and breakfast was a beautiful spread each morning. Valet parking was great. Some of the staff were very friendly...

The kitchen in the room could have been better stocked. We didn't have basic things like spoons. Poor selection of coffee, snacks. I'd expect a 5* hotel to have streaming services like Netflix. Room service is a bit slow.
