We have been travelling SA for four weeks and Thandolwami Bushlodge was by far the best place we stayed at. Breakfasts and dinners were excellent, the staff was very friendly and kind. The whole location and the pool were very clean. The view from the pool is amazing with wild animals just a few meters away. We ended up extending for one night because we enjoyed it there so much!

Just be aware that the self contained house is not walking distance from main lodge (lodge staff transported us to & from the lodge for meals etc). No extractor fans in the bathrooms,

Host responded quickly and helpfully to all contact. Very high quality everything. Lovely staff. We stayed in the house, but ate dinner & breakfast at the main lodge - both meals were very good & generous. Pool & common area at main lodge are large & amazing! Ideally suited to self driving tourists (although we weren’t, & relied on Thandolwami for transfer from a lodge 1.5 hrs away)

The location is superb, quiet environment. The sounds of the birds in the morning. Bucks come through to the waterhole to drink water every now and then.

We had a self catering option, however at the time of the booking, you are offered a breakfast option at the main lodge at an additional cost. The staff was friendly on arrival and checked again if we will be needing the breakfast option or not.

Our recent stay at Thandolwami was an absolute delight, characterized by exceptional service from booking to checkout. The owner’s attentiveness and friendliness during the reservation process set a positive tone, and their warm welcome upon arrival was a testament to their commitment to guest satisfaction. We enjoyed the serene ambiance and contemporary style of the lodge. The breathtaking views from the main swimming pool (I must say the biggest one indeed) a touch of luxury, complemented by impeccable cleanliness. We could not fault anything else. Throughout our stay, the staff's dedication to ensuring a comfortable experience shone through. The bed was super comfortable soft and perfect. My wife did not complain about the food and that was a first for me 😅 I highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a perfect blend of luxury, convenience, and top-notch service. A big shoutout to Lusanda, Tshepo, Lucas, Nikiwe, Paulina 🥰 Yvonne., Not forgetting Mufasa, Bimbo, Princess,Joja, and Bhebhe. We extremely felt at home 🏡.

The hosts and staff of Thandolwani were very friendly and made us feel welcome at all times. A special surprise was the 'Dinner in the Bush' on Old Years Eve. We came back rested, thanks to the peace and quiet of the location of this lodge.

The view in front of the pool towards the fence can do with a bit of landscaping( e.g lawn and pavement)

Their food was deliciously prepared. The nature there, the exotic views, Game drive was excellent. Their pool is clean and refreshing, and you get to view animals while in the pool. The staff is supper friendly, helpful and welcoming.

I can't think of anything

We had an absolute fabulous time at Thandolwami. We stayed in the Bush House which was outside the main lodge area. It was incredibly peaceful. There was a small water hole nearby and game would come visit. We had our own beautiful pool. We went on a day and night game ride. On the 31st of December they held a bush braai for the guests that wanted to join. We went along and it was fantastic! Really a fabulous way to end the year! We will most definitely visit again. All of us had a super time. Oh, and lastly the whole place is run on solar, so no load shedding which is a major bonus!!

There's really nothing I didn't like, the host is such a sweet person, wish all the hosts would be as nice.

Everything about the place was amazing, the host, the staff everyone was super friendly and welcoming, the rooms are clean and pool is beautiful, the food is delicious from breakfast to dinner, I really enjoyed my stay will definitely be going there again soon with friends.

The accommodation was lovely and very original and had a great atmosphere. The lodge had a watering hole which brought a selection of animals to it each day, we were also very lucky to be allowed to accompany the owners on the daily patrols. The family that own the property live on site are incredibly helpful and certainly went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, we had a very enjoyable stay.

The location was superb we felt like we were in a beautiful different place. The breakfast was the best.
