The use of the kitchen facilities was not obvious, maybe because of the handover period. It was somewhat of a pity that some outside lighting could not be switched off temporarily to fully enjoy the night skies Sutherland is known for...

We simply loved the tranquility of Sutherland, the location of the guesthouse, the spacious rooms and the lovely veranda the Stellar Dust Guesthouse provided!

To be honest no complaints.

Sutherland is off to beaten track for most travelers. However don’t be put off. Stellar Dust Guesthouse was the perfect place to stay. Check in was simple and friendly. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and a friendly feeling too. All meals were off site but this was not a problem. Highly recommended.

Be prepared for a slight musty smell when entering through the front door, after all it is an old house. But, first impressions last! The new management may do well in getting some handymen in soon to look at small things, like plumbing (toilet flush, wash basin drain pipes,..) and door locks for instance. Will be a Stellar place, once the hardware functions properly! ;-)

Sweet old house in good location, just off main road. Parking area behind the house. Big efforts are made by the owners, with love to detail, to make your stay comfortable in the traditional old guest house. Fancily presented towels and nice toiletries, etc. laid out on the very comfortable beds. The shared bathroom intended for our room was modern and spacious with large shower and 2 washbasins. You have access to a big communal sitting room with large comfy sofas and a big dining room. The included breakfast was available in the Blue Moon restaurant, a couple of hundred meters away, was excellent! The very young staff served us a wonderful full breakfast with pride and confidence. Great job, girls and guys!

A slight urine smell in the rooms, also important to note that the bathrooms are a short distance across the hallway from the rooms and not en suite.

Jan and Roelien were gracious and accommodating hosts. The house was quaint with cute and peculiar decor. Very comfortable and cozy. The food was also amazing, best vegetarian meals I have had ❤ 😍

The breakfast served at Blue Moon Restaurant as part of our accommodation was a very good English plus cereals and juice. Plenty to sustain us for our walk on a nearby farm.

We just loved our stay and the Blue Moon Restaurant served 5 star food. Sutherland is a small town farming community with BIG hearts. The old house with antique furniture reminded us of elegant times in the past. All linen was crisp, clean and new and warm showers on a ice cold morning was lovely! We loved it and will certainly be back to this friendly guest house.

The house was heated at all times. The bed was massive with 2 electric blankets covering both sides. The house is central to town. The hosts were helpful and the house was cleaned regularly. We really enjoyed our stay.

The gas geyser in our room didn't warm up the water for the bath. As our room didn't have a shower and there weren't other guests were given access to separate shower. That had no warm water whatsoever. We left without being able to bath or shower as cold water isn't ideal when it is zero degrees outside.

Large room with lots of toiletries and a carafe with sherry. It is within walking distance of restaurants, shops and the church. It has plenty of heating options to keep you warm. The breakfast was nice.
