It was stunning. Breathe taking and Jo was fantastic with assisting us with places in and about the area. Definitely going back. We were stuck in hectic traffic, but she was patient and extremely caring. Great place, wonderful experience ❤️❤️

We liked everything and although we were not fully aware when booking, we were the only ones at the accommodation but didn't mind that at all.

Hostess very reliable and kept in touch about our whereabouts and timing. Lovely provisions for our breakfast were in the fridge. Super accommodation and beautiful surroundings.

THE BREAKFAST WAS VERY GOOD AND PLENTIFUL. THE LOCATION IS PERFECT FOR US AS WE REALLY TREASURE THE PEACE AND QUIET THAT "THE BUNKER" AFFORDS US. JO IS A FANTASTIC HOST AND A LOVELY PERSON. WE WILL DEFINATELY BE STAYING THERE AGAIN IN THE FURURE.

No complaints, nothing at all!!

The Bunker is such an amazing house, it's like staying in a modern comfortable cave😀, Never seen such a great architect of building a house under the rocks! We were there to celebrate my hubby's 50th and upon our arrival, we were excited that indeed we made a good choice! No other accommodation would have given us the joy, comfort, peace of mind and tranquility we find at The Bunker. Good value for money, the house spacious to fit whole family, my daughters are so big but they slept comfortably in those beds. Good water pressure in the shower, plenty toilet paper enough for the family and for the duration of our weekend stay. I find myself one day having to fight for this in a hotel, too bad. Big flat screen with all channels, nice kitchen with all amenities, I brought mine just in case, but there was just everything we needed. My daughters just loved to be there, taking pics at the roof top of the magic Bunker, and being visited by monkeys daily was such a wonder. The service was beyond our expectation!! Our lovely host Jo is a great asset, we arrived very late at night 22h00, but we got a call from her at midday that our room was ready for us. That's an outstanding service!! She could not sleep until we arrived, and she kept in touch throughout our journey. On arrival wow! What a touching welcome note, plenty chocolates, and a bottle of wine as a birthday gift. The good memories of The Bunker as well as Jo's awesome service during our family milestone birthday will live in our hearts forever Keep up The Bunker!!

It gets really cold so a heater would be recommended, other than that it was very good.

Jo was fantastic. It was cosy and we had a great time as a family. We visited all the recommanded places and really enjoyed the surroundings. It is a comfortable place to relax and enjoy the mountian views as well.

Clean, quiet, comfortable and warm. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is available. The view of the Drakensberg mountains from the room is so spectacular. Jo is the best host in the Berg.

The road leading to the area is not the greatest. But if you are used to South Africa's country roads you will be fine. At the place itself all was great.

Amazing location and wonderful views. The host was very friendly but also not intrusive. Wonderful value for money and even with busy kids the space inside was more than enough. We hope to be back soon.

I requested a double bed, but it was 2 singles pushed together. It was not comfortable to sleep on. Air quality was very poor. Not enough ventilation in The Bunker. I know it would be difficult to get more windows in due to its location. I had difficulty sleeping .

I loved the location. It was close to all the sites that my partner and I wanted to see. Great views of the mountains. Very peaceful , and very safe.

The place had an odour of ‘un-aired’ on entering …as it is a ‘cave’ there is only one door that opens and 2 little windows which don’t create a through draught. The bed linen is cheap, although bed comfortable enough. Bedding and towels didn’t feel really fresh but again we put this down to the place not airing. The shower room (tiny) needs a total upgrade…again as no window and ineffective extractor fan, no ventilation so there is mildew on all sides of shower, cheap plastic toilet seat cracked…in fact this room didn’t feel that clean. Wifi was a nightmare, although Jo tried her best to sort out connection we ended up having to drive to local hotel to access when required. Would be a great plus if the owner allowed access via his strong wife signal at main house rather than a pre-paid dongle that kept cutting out.

View from room was wonderful and place very secure. As there were solar panels and generator for the main house the Bunker is not affected by load shedding..a real bonus. Nice gesture of leaving some fruit,bread,butter and jam in the fridge (sadly no milk), but as per all our other South African stays we were expecting a continental breakfast fresh each morning.

The host getting there before 10am and sitting in her car waiting for us to leave. Knowing we had checked in really late with two little kids. Not a very pleasant departure.

Breakfast was not as per the selection on the website, nothing was freshly made.
