The staff was not the friendliest nor were they very welcoming. On our last morning at Caledon we were awaken by maintenance men working right by our window (they were varnishing the window of our room and talking very loud). This made us very uncomfortable. We were also required to pay a “tourism levy” (for each day that we stayed) that we were unaware of.

The facilities were good. We really enjoyed the hot pools and had no complaints about our hotel room. The breakfast was the highlight of our stay.

More information needed to be given. I constantly asked questions. For instance the number to dial for reception, the restaurants didn’t have halal food and the fact that we had to ask for another blanket and there was no iron.

I was disappointed that there was only 1 restaurant that was open for lunch and supper and the bar was also closed. It just seemed like there was a lot of wasted space that could be used for various forms of entertainment and activities to create a fun atmosphere for everyone.

Stunning view and scenery, really enjoyed the pools. The breakfast was great, a nice variety and over enough food.

Bathroom was weathered ( door and toilet seat ). There was no soap only a shower cap. Could smell fresh paint. At telephone in room , no booklet or info guide if anything needed from reception. Was told on Sunday morning we must book for breakfast, unacceptable. When we got there on Friday afternoon, there was a trolley near the staircase with a bowl of finished food. Was still there Saturday morning , unbelievable. More fresh fruit at breakfast would be nice..

The views, staff was hospitable. Place was clean. Pools was very nice.

General upkeep and maintenance needs attention, but we did notice that this is happening. There was a dripping sound outside our room on the first night. But contractors were on site the next day to resolve the issue. There is also a trolley stationed as you go upstairs to the rooms and this would have dirty plates on it for lengthy periods during the day.

Staff at the hotel are extremely accommodating. Buffet breakfast is top notch. I also loved that they have a towel service - deposit of R200 per towel, but you can change your wet towel for a dry one as many times as you need to. Deposit refunded at check out.

-Room had a damp, musty smell, was not pleasant, particularly the bathroom. Extractor fan was not working -Shower was a bath shower combo, and took forever to change temperature after adjustment. Pressure seemed low so took ages to get clean. -Whole room seemed run down apart from the bed

-Hot springs was 10/10 (except during load shedding when they stopped) -Da Vinci restaurant was 10/10, big portions, reasonable prices, cheap drinks, great taste -Bed was 10/10, massive and comfortable and clean -Buffet breakfast 10/10, great variety and constantly replenished

The fact that for 2 nights we were locked out of our room and had to wait outside for almost 30 minutes for them to open the door. No aircon remote in room, kettle lid was broken

There is a damp smell in the hall way to the rooms. The restaurants both serve the same types of food not much variety.

Found the room run down need a bit of TLC . Basin cracked tap in basin was loose . Cupboatds looked tired and need touch up.

The pools were great and staff pleasant. Great breakfast but for lunch and supper really nothing great to get there. Had to go out of town . Over all were happy.

The hotel feels like it needs a revamp. Curtain had a big hole in it. We did not feel safe in the Hot Springs at night, men were harassing us, and we had to leave the area. I reported it to reception - more security is needed for guests at night.

Good breakfast, pleasant helpful staff, hot springs are always good but unfortunately due to loadshedding the pumps don't work.

The buffet breakfast was chaos, no order to it. Should be managed better and not let everybody storm the hot food section at the same time. The children should not be allowed to serve themselves, it is unhygienic because they touch the food that other people must still eat.

Even though the check out states 11:00 to 11:30, the room key stopped working at 11:00 and had to go to the front desk to query. We eventually had one of hotel staff open the room door so that we could collect the rest of our items.

Excellent buffet breakfast included in the stay at the Blue Crain. However, the food at the Black Sheep and Di Vinci restaurants were not that great.

Better parking. More variety with regards to restaurants to eat at.

Breakfast was good, but you got to go early, because it will fill up quickly and it is very badly organised.. Go early or you will need to wait in a queue just to get a table. The hot thermal baths are amazing. As you are a guest go late to the baths, less people. Really worth the trip for this.
