It could have been cleaned better. and maybe can use some new furniture.

The location was great, staff was very friendly. The house was also cosy but could use some more decoration. The living room was spacious but not nicely decorated. The garden chairs where not cleaned and the bedroom cabinet also didn't look very clean. Overal it was a nice stay and we liked the set up of the place.

The location was great - close to town and a lovely neighbourhood. The best part though was the super friendly staff - always so smiley and welcoming. Absolutely delicious fruit salad too ; )

The only negative was the street noise, so if you are looking for a quiet night's sleep, this isn't it.. but if you want a wonderful experience in DeWaterkant, which is filled with character and the most magnificent Pepper tree courtyard, then this is the spot for sure. Walking distance to so many fabulous spots, I did love it

The friendly staff, everyone was so accommodating and friendly a special mention to Stan , and the very tasty food on offer at their restaurant, with wonderful boutique wines

The property could use with a refurbishment and is currently for sale. No doubt future owners will give it the TLC it needs. The pub on the corner generated a fair bit of noise, but it did not present much problem while keeping windows closed.

There was a whole lot to like... from the wonderful staff at the Charles, the good and reasonably priced food, to the central and safe location.... the accommodation was a separate town house with private entrance, key and lock. It was spacious and pleasant, well furnished and fully equipped with all comforts.

- I found 3 caches 2 inside the fridge and 1 around. Not so large like 2 years ago when a huge one was in my pillow and awake me in the same guest house. - When the night is windy very noisy, otherwise it’s a quiet place after midnight where Manhattan close.

Shower is tiny! It also blocked up quickly, but that was fixed by the 2nd day. A hand towel rail would have been handy in the bathroom.

I had a lovely self-contained apartment on street level. The air conditioner was a complete blessing as it was over 30 degrees each day I stayed. Bed was very comfortable.

Didn't like that there was no aircon. The room is extremely hot during summer. You have to sleep with the windows open which brings in mosquitoes and the noise outside. I didn't like the cocroach infestation.

I liked that it was walking distance to a lot of restaurants. That they have a cafe and its in a gorgeous location and safe.

I didn' t get the self check in link before arrival. It is not bad but note that you walk through the restaurant to get to your room.

Clean and spacious room. Host communicated well after check in and was very helpful. Menu has a variety of vegetarian food. Wifi was good.

They can't store lugagge after check-out and no a/c. For summer in Cape Town, it could be bothersome.

My room was changed a day before checkin with no valid explanation. The room given is next to a parking lot and everytime a car would park just next to the door i could hardly get in or out.

First floor room (#1) across from kitchen, very loud, no a/c, room very stuffy and unable to open windows since on main road, fan that rattled. Advised at checkin to lock valuables in safe, but no safe in room, also nowhere to hang clothes. The bathroom layout was not well thought out, small and could not open the door all the way as it hit the sink that was too large. FYI..No staff in hotel after 530/6p, you will have an emergency no to call if needed. The biggest negative is no luggage storage after checkout. We were referred to an expensive storage service: bagdrop.co.za. Our flight was at 9p, I would advise you book a room for an extra day there if late flight. Pick a room on another floor but note you will have to climb stairs. They would be quieter and larger.

Good location, outdoor roof deck, can purchase good breakfast for approx $10 and staff very kind and helpful. Comfortable bed.
