Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

South AfricaThere are no cleaning facilities for the guest. The shower does not have a curtain so the floor gets wet and there are no mops to clean so it can be dangerous for the guest. The duvet cover is broken. Bottom window was broken. Cannot play the tv because there is only a plug for the tv and not the connection router.

South AfricaNoise levels in the morning were terrible. Made it impossible to sleep. We weren’t told that the gate is locked at a specific time and that we would have to call to be able to go outside. The bathroom condition is just sad. Just sad. Prior to completing the booking , I didnt know about the remote deposit fee of R100.

South AfricaThe upkeep of the place. We arrived on the 31st Jan and the place was only cleaned on Saturday. Towels are not changed. I had to request. The tv does not work. No air con or fan and it was hot. No toilet paper.. the yard was always dirty. They have tenants at the back tha are so noisy in the morning and late afternoon.
The location is good as it was near UCT.

South AfricaThe stuff didnt even take us to our room but we managed to find it.The kettle was not working and the rooms differ from the photos which means the photos are old because the room we were in was supposed to have a lamp next the bed and flower holder and even a laundry basket and also the curtain was not in the shower and the windows of the bathroom didnt like that there were not a mop because the shower area needs it. The room were very hot a small fan would've helped aswell as a small fridge. And the idea of the microwave that is shared is not good. But everything else were alright hope to see improvement next time because i will surely be there again.
We liked the Room it was clean although it was not the room I've booked..but i liked that one even more..it suits us well and it were located at a good spot. We liked the TV and internet connection.

South AfricaThey didn't clean our room, didn't change towels too during our stay. I requested for a room with a shower instead of bath tub during my booking but the stuff failed to houner my request even on my arrival. The TV too was not working.
I like the bed was quite comfortable and there's more privacy and less noise it's a nice place.
