How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

There was no glasses to drink water,the toilet had a bad smell,and was also not clean,outside the door its was dirty there were takeaway containers lying around,the yard was also not cleaned there were leaves on the ground,no towels in the bathroom
Bed linen was clean,aircon & TV was in a good state

I was charged R750+300 deposit for one night when i got to the location but the price is very different on the internet, this guest house is involved with fraudulent activities!. Because you can't charge R350 per night on the internet then when i get to the location i have to pay more plus refundable deposit which is not even mentioned on the internet!. In the internet i was promised a double bed but when i got there i got two singles that kept splitting at night each had its own bedding and nothing in between to keep the beds together!.
The staff was very friendly

The place was smelling and the bedsheets were very old n dirty. The toilet was very dirty n smelling. Even the sitting room was smelling too. Too cut a long story short that place is not good for vacation they most close it down if the owner can not renovate.
Poor sheet was dirty I ddnt sleep on the bed bcz of stains to the sheet cockroaches bed smelling no toilet tissues

The rooms had a tv which was not working. I asked for a double bed only to get 2 single which were not comfortable. The room was not in good state for the price we paid

The doors were broken and got holes in it, there was no toilet papers in bathroom. No cutlery and crockery we were not even allowed to do breakfast

The pictures on the website are not as you will expect on Ur arrival however owners need to give the accommodation some renovations please.
Friendly staff always happy to help whenever help is needed, for that the team deserve 10/10 Too stuff you guys are amazing not to forget Ikeey thumbs up 👍

Everything was a mess, ants all over the place.. Appliances weren't working. The microwave had a plate with spoiled food in it. We had to ask for the pots and cleaning staff.. They must start taking care of their property. I don't recommend it!

The room that he ended up settling for wasn't the room that I was given when I booked for him. I asked for a room with 1 double bed and he got a room with 2 single beds.
My dad checked in late so they still attended to him even after it was past check in time.

Only learnt on my arrival that pots and iron needs to be rented and there was a burning smell on the electric box that they never fixed,there was no wifi as promised

The room I was placed, Charlotte, we struggled to close the sliding door everytime when we go out, DSTV channels were not working or blocked from the day we arrived until checking out, fridge door also not closing properly and the tap on the kitchen was broken. I was very disappointed to say the least.

The parking was good. Safety and security was good
It was a self catering but they didn't give us utensils time, they gave it to us the following day and the plugs were not working at the kitchen and other bedroom. There were no toilet papers at the toilets . The broken TV at the other house it was not working

I lost my pair of shoes and when I texted the owner he said he doesn't know the place and he doesn't know what I'm talking about.
I liked the fact that it was quiet and peaceful. I could also smoke outside.
