The room was spacious, well laid out and very clean. The outside area was well equipped and the whole experience of staying at the Gables was very relaxing. Rudi was very informative and we felt that he was a naturally helpful person. All on all a great success and we were delighted with our choice.

The Gables is magnificent, I would highly recommend it. I have stayed in over 20 places through the years in Hermanus and I would rate The Gables the best!

Great room with handy kitchenette within walking distance of the harbour and cliff walk. The owner is very accommodating as well. The garden is lovely, with a private patio per room and a shared pool. We were sad to only stay one night.

Unfortunately, due to heavy rains and burst pipes, Hermanus had no water that weekend. This was beyond Rudy's control but he was proactive and put a big bucket of water in the bathroom for washing etc. Only recommendation for future is to put water bottles in the fridge as well.

The room was clean, comfortable, modern and had everything you could possibly need. Rudy was very helpful and accommodating. We braaied on Sunday and watched WC rugby. If you are looking for lovely accommodation near Fick's Pool and a short drive to the centre of Hermanus, then you can't go wrong with The Gables. We really enjoyed it as it's near our daughter and Spescare and we got to see whales while we were there. We will definitely be back.

Clean rooms, secure parking, well located, friendly owner, heater in the room for cold weather and even has a Nespresso machine with pods. Been there twice and will definitely return.

Very friendly host. Perfectly positioned to be able to walk in and out of town, for the Walker Bay Festival. Facilities were great and solar during load shedding was a big plus.

No complaints, really. As a female, I felt very nervous walking back to the guest house from "town" at night. We decided to rather drive the second night. No fault of the guest house though, it's just life unfortunately. The walk is not far, but in the dark, I did feel nervous.

Really lovely little guest house, perfect for our weekend in Hermanus. Relatively close to "town", very quick drive and easy walk. Pretty blue swimmimg pool and lush garden. Our room was modern and clean. Really nice that the lights and TV stay on during loadshedding! The bed was spacious and very comfortable! Bathroom was a good size with a nice shower and toiletries. Kitchen was well stocked with good quality appliances, cutlery etc. Delicious rusks to go with our morning coffee. Our room was cleaned beautifully in the morning while we were out. Friendly & accommodating staff, we were allowed a slightly late check out on the Sunday too which was nice!

There was nothing we didn't like

This was the second time we have stayed at The Gables and the experience was as good as our previous stay. The rooms are very spacious and had everything we needed and were kept beautifully clean by Beauty. Thankyou Rudi for making our stay so comfortable and pleasant and we will be back in the future

Actually received an upgrade to a larger room, which was very much appreciated. Helpful host who gave us a heads up to the eating options in Hermanus, which did not disappoint.

Only thing we slightly missed is airconditioning, during the hot nights. However, there was a fan on the roof which ensured it didn’t get too hot.

Great, spacious room in quiet area and a nice swimming pool. A great and comfortable stay in Hermanus if you don’t mind/like walking 15 mins to the center like we do.
