How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The pressure from the shower is very weak and the water in the morning was cold.

The first morning I did not have hot water in my shower, so from there I rather showered in the evenings. I think this might have had something to do with the sun geysers, but not sure about that.
The room was neat, clean and comfortable. It had everything promised on the app. The staff were exceptionally friendly, especially Choka, the chef. She prepared scrumptious meals with a nice variety of offerings throughout the week that I stayed at the Hill.

Ijooh! Mini wardrobes, you can hardly hang a shirt! All our ironed clothes were hung outside for the whole week 🙄 It was a week of loadshedding and the generator was just making noise at awkward times of the night, though there's little that the could do. The basin is strictly meant for hands, can' t manage to wash the face, make them bigger

There was nothing I didn’t like. They had a backup generator for load shedding and that for me is a +++
What a wonderful stay we had here. The coordinates on Booking.com are completely off so call reception so they can send a live location. Our rooms were neat and comfortable. There was daily housekeeping and an iron and board were a phone call away. We had both breakfast and dinner during our 2 nights stay and both were deliciously made. I wish to thank the staff for their hospitality, you made our stay a memorable one.

It's great to have a generator, but it needs a cover to reduce the noise, since it runs into the night and again in the early morning.
The staff were super friendly, although the buzzer wasn't working and I had to bang on the gate to get attention. The location is on the main road, it's not a bad area and not a great area. The room was modern but tiny, especially the bathroom - if you're a big person you won't be able to navigate around the toilet and into the shower.

The facility is great. Zwivhuya was exceptionally helpful and welcoming. Our stay was very pleasant. Having a backup for loadshedding was a big plus.

Room is nice and clean and has all the amenities that you need. The chef made me a meal and it was excellent. We stay every month and its always very good.

The juice was diluted or seemed to not be of a popular brand. It didn't taste that well.
The breakfast was superb. There was a selection of foods available and the seating area was widely spaced and COVID-19 compliant. The rooms were bigger than I thought and the aircon, TV and mini-fridge was in working order. Overall a great experience.

Our room had interlinking door which was unnecessary. It made the bathroom very very small. I am a very thin person size 30 waist and struggled to fit in the toilet with the door closed. The basin was also very small to the extended that you could not even brush your teeth
