Nieu Bethesda is a wonderful little town and well worth visiting. Ibis Lounge was a bonus. It is full of character with wooden floors. There is a pool if the weather is hot. Barbara is amazing and a very attentive and helpful host. Breakfast and coffee were delicious. We also ate at their on site restaurant "Stirlings". The food was exceptional and good value for money. We went to the fossil museum and that was well worth it - very interesting

Barbara was really helpful before and during our visit. Lovely breakfast with homemade plum jam and fresh sourdough breakfast. What a treat in this beautiful village with the Owl House, a brilliant bookshop and community museum and restaurant. We'll be back!

The shutters are lovely in the bathroom as go with the room but in the day it just makes the room rather dark, suggest a light curtain so you don’t have to keep shutting the shutters to use the facilities. But this is only a very minor thing.

The property is very warm and inviting. Barbara made you feel like you were just a friend arriving to stay the night. The location is right in the town, just a 2 minute walk to restaurant and attractions. The room had everything you needed. The electric blankets were a Big bonus as it was winter, but the room didn’t feel like an ice chest even though we woke to frost. Highly recommend a night or two here.

Owner run. Barbara and Johan are wonderful hosts and makes you feel welcome the moment you arrive. Clean spacious room. Amazing bed and good linen. Fantastic dining experience by the owner.

Lots of mosquitos at night. But, that is surely no-one's fault. Come prepared when visiting in late summer. When driving to Nieu Bethesda, be sure not to take the ca 30km gravel road; first turnoff after passing through Lootsberg pass. There is also a tarred road with only a ca 4km gravel stretch further on.

Very nice oldish guesthouse with comfortable room in a rural village setting. Good bathroom with massive shower and bath. Good breakfast, good coffee, nice home-made muesli and very friendly hostess; overall nice ambiance and great experience. Convenient location close to Owl House. Great dinner at the nearby Bethesda Tower Restaurant.

The bathroom door could do with a bit of attention, as it (partly) slipped off the rails at times.

The breakfast was excellent and the location, perfect. The hosts were extremely welcoming and went out of their way to make us comfortable.

Lovely guest house in the quiet and quaint town of Nieu Bethesda. Enjoyed our fabulous breakfast outside in the courtyard. Swimming pool was wonderful to cool off in. Great, enthusiastic guide Andreas at the Fossil Centre, definitely visit there in addition to the Owl House. Take a drive 7kms out of village to see the Stone Folk (it is a short easy walk from the signpost).

Perfectly situated within the town and across the road from the Owl House. Within walking distance of restaurants and a leisurely walk through town. The Ibis Lounge is tastefully decorated and comfortably welcoming. The owners were very welcoming and kept in touch until my arrival. Breakfast was excellent, fresh and beautifully presented in the dining area.
