Only had 1 night there. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Very cosy and comfortable. All the small things were thought of like a coffee plunger and good ground coffee, water and juice in the fridge and wood at the fireplace. Very comfortable lounge with separate bedroom which was incredibly comfortable. Big spacious bathroom (We stayed in the Studio) Self check in via keyless entry was easy. Great communication with the manager via WhatsApp with a note explaining everything including restaurant suggestions.

I think a sink of sorts with a tap in the kitchen would have been convenient. Otherwise it was perfect.

Loved the quirkiness of the decor without compromising on any comforts as in quality linen, toiletries, hot shower, little extras in fridge, nespresso and plunger coffee options. And location, right next door to Diesel and Creme Keyless entry and excellent prompt assistance from Dean. And great suggestions from Dean where to dine and go to for pre dinner drinks

Hardly anything to report here, just the hurting of my finger at the lower knob every time I opened the front door. The way the door opens needs some attention.

This is a unique place to stay. Other reviews say it's quirky, but I don't agree. The Studio where I stayed is very tastefully and carefully furnished to give a farm-style, country feel to it, which is exactly what I like. There is an amazing attention to detail: amongst others, a fridge with some goodies inside, Nespresso machine with a couple of capsules, lots of regular and Rooibos tea, a microwave (no cooking stove or cooking pots, but not necessary with the great Diesel & Crème restaurant as part of the Motel), fantastic huge double bed, and a bathroom with a huge shower and almost instant hot water. I was really sorry to leave after two days (only!) and could have stayed longer, since Barrydale and the surroundings are very special. Congratulations to whoever conceived this accommodation -- I will be back, and for longer! And visit the House of Books, the largest collection of second-hand books I've ever seen. I came away with 7 books even though I don't have much space in my suitcase for my flight back north...

We just loved the quirky decor. Our husbands complained since we just drove form Montagu to Barrydale for our next stayover. When they saw the interior, they were so impressed and started to plan when we will go there next. I loved the attention to small detail, like extra multi-plugs as well as electric in mosquito killers. they also had a Nepsresso machine with some coffee pods from a nearby roasters. The owner gave us some options for dinner which was very helpful. We loved Diesel & Cream literary on our doorstep.

When I opened the door, I felt ashamed for being a solo traveler--this place could hold a big family! This motel has only one room, I was the only guest that day, the restaurant and the motel were together, the meal was so yummy! A lot of thought has gone into the decor. It was exceptional. The suite was spotless. We were made to feel very welcome. Small things like some nespresso coffee and pop corn was a great touch. If I could give 15/10 I would. Loved this place.

maybe it will go against the ambiance but more lights should be there at least in the bedroom if someone wants to switch them on. It just gives a sense of safety as the whole town including the restaurant next door had shut down by 6pm.

Lovely stay in an old property converted into a hotel. a good pit stop on R62 in beautiful Barrydale. Located on famous Diesel and Crème diner.

Absolutely amazing stay. I highly recommend this stay to anyone. Self check is easy and hassel free and all information is sent to you. All the little extras you get are worth the amount you pay. I will definitely be back. This was our last stop on our honeymoon road trip and it was the most memorable!

Only one Vegan option on your menu.

All of it was great, gorgeous interior, the bed super, and the products provided first class. As a Vegan, I would have liked a few more options in the Restaurant - the wrap - the only option - was really not great. For the rest, it was wonderful that you had Oat Milk, and the coffee delicious.
