Unfortunately, my experience with The Living Collective lofts was disappointing. Due to an unexpected emergency room visit, we were unable to check in by the 20:00 deadline. Despite notifying the owner/manager and calling again to apologise and explain the situation around 22:00 when I got out of the emergency room, we were met with a lack of understanding and were reminded that check-in closes at 20:00. It was disheartening to have to repeatedly explain our medical emergency circumstances and still receive a hard time. This lack of empathy significantly marred our stay.

The Living Collective lofts provided a good stay. The lofts were impeccably clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The location is beautiful and there's a pool which would be nice in summer.

Property is advertised as ''Entire home'' with garden, mountain and landmark views. It also has a 'special feature of a pool with a view'. This may be the description of another house but it was definitely not the house we stayed in. We had no view at all. The pool is in the back courtyard and completely surrounded by either the house or boundary hedge. Even worse - instructions in the house information folder advise that the pool and barbeque facilities are common property to be shared. Indeed, there is a 2nd accommodation above the garage which was occupied by others during our stay. When the accommodation is described as "entire home", I do not expect to be sharing it with others. The photos in the advert are of a similar house, but not of the house we stayed in. Other issues - the back door had no key so could not be locked, the linen in the main bedroom was grubby so we slept in another room, and the linen in the room we slept in had holes in it. The house is tired and needs maintenance and cleaning.

The only bedroom I'd say was worth the price is the main bedroom. The other 2 bedrooms weren't worth the money we paid. The mattresses were very uncomfortable and made squeaky sounds when one would move around. The house rules mentioned that the safety and security of our personal items were our responsibility and we are to lock the doors. However, only 1 bedroom key was available. All others doors could not be locked. To make matters worse, the helper had full access to the house when we were not available. How then does this rule apply when it's impossible for us to lock our things away?! The bathroom in the middle bedroom was of such a low standard. We were highly disappointed. Overall, we all were not happy with the accommodation and concluded that we would not book the property for holiday again.

Location was beautiful. However, restaurants closed at 20:00. We were forced to drive 30 minutes out to find restaurants that were open till late.

Our bed was very uncomfortable. I had a sore back in the morning. My bedside table light didn't work as there was not even a plug point close by.

The loft was a basic apartment with stained furniture and stained & torn bed linen. The entrance to the loft was at the top of a very steep staircase via the service entry of the main house. WiFi had no Internet connection during our 6-day stay. No dining table, dishwasher or washing machine in the loft as advertised.

The pictures on Booking.Com are very deceiving. My family and I refused to stay at this place as we were absolutely shocked at how small the loft was. We arrived at the place after 10pm. When the host took me into the loft I found that the entrance to the loft had an extremely steep staircase which was difficult to climb and was not ideal as I have a 2 year old. Secondly on entering the loft I noticed how absolutely humid it was inside and there were insects crawling and flying about. I asked the host where the aircon was, to which she replied that there was none. The bathroom, room and kitchenette were so small that you could not even swing a cat. I was so appalled at the state and size of room and the fact that we are in summer in S.A and there is no air-conditioning available but only a ceiling fan. I paid a lot of money for what I thought would be a comfortable 2 night stay for me and my family, however as the lady refused to refund my money it is now money down the drain!!! We got back into our vehicle and booked in at a more suitable and comfortable location.

My delayed deposit refund. I booked 1 night. Assistance told me I will get my refund when I check out. After waiting after 3 days made a follow ups, was told it can take up to 7 days. But eventually got it on the 4th day. Kitchen tap was not working and was not been alerted. Staff need to improve on customer service and be dressed properly. Assistance who came to check me out in the morning, I doubt if she bathed. Same clothes as last night were worn which was not appropriate. Images on web site are bit exaggerated. Not exactly what you see and imagined.

The bed was in a terrible condition, sagging so badly on the sides and made a terrible squeaky sound whenever you turned. One could actually feel the springs poking through the foam. ☹️ There’s a lot that I was not happy with especially the conduct of one of the employees. May I have an email address of the correct person to direct my email to?

The unit was very clean and nicely furnished. Some of the staff members eg. Wendy, Sli and Lihle were pleasant and very helpful.

Poorly equipped kitchen...which was annoying as we were self-catering and the property is far from restaurants. The property was also extremely sterile, and we felt as if we were in a property that noone had ever lived in. This is unfortunate because a lot has been invested in the property. Finally, it is in a large (albeit fancy) estate with very little else there and unfortunately the weather was dominated by the fairly regular Hilton mizzle.

I must admit that the bed was possibly the most comfortable I have ever slept in!
