How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The locality didn't lend itself to strolling and there was no hotel garden.
This is an honest, simple, clean hotel used by local business types and civil servants but situated on a busy road in semi-industrial/retail zone. You must have your own transport a) to find it on long Voortrekker Road and b) to get to and from places of interest in Cape Town. 25 mins to airport by rental car. Aircon in room, teamaking facility, free good, safe car park and charming staff. Small bar /cafe area with comfortable spotless lounge. Some noise in corridors in the small hours, from other guests. We requested room at rear, in case there was traffic noise.

Some light fixtures didnt work. The tea area was very small Showers were cold late at night

The branding on the hotel property is not clearly visible from the street. It will be in the hotel's interest to invest in some neon branding. During load shedding, there was no backup, and the hotel plunged into darkness. The staff members place minute solar lights on every floor to minimize darkness. The rooms are overlooking the streets and there are no filters on the window. You need to keep the curtains drawn for some privacy. More caution should be exercised when taking a walk outside the property as you may be mistaken for a night girl.
The hotel is about a 20-minute drive from the airport. The room was very spacious and squicky clean. The shower was spacious with high-pressure hot/cold water. There were plenty of towels to cater to all purposes. Since the rooms are accessible via steps, the hotel staff assisted us to carry our luggage upstairs. The two nights there were very cold, and the extra blankets came to my rescue. There was housekeeping every day which was much appreciated. The hotel is near Parow Mall for some shopping indulgence.

There was no heater in my room or an electronic blanket for that matter. I had to ask for an iron. Please organise a Bar fridge because the bar down stairs close early and sometimes we need to sit until late with our bev in the cooler

The shower was a bit dirty but it was not a train smash. There was also no toothpaste in the bathroom but I managed to get some at a nearby mall.
The helpfulness of the gentleman at reception who received me and helped me locate a client's office down the road plus get an Uber. The lady at reception on check out who helped me after I burned my pants with an iron.
