The access to the property was very steep and I recommend they let future visitors know that during rain it is slippery challenge in a normal sedan. The entrance to the cottage is not very appealing as you approach through a gate next to an old outbuilding. The surrounding garden could also do with some maintenance.

The cottage was exactly as expected, comfortable and cosy. The view was outstanding.

This home really felt like home, clean and comfortable....the weather was bad we could not go out and do much...so we spent all our time at the house and it was amazing, host was so helpful and housekeeping on point😁 didn feel like coming back home🥰

The peace and privacy. The home is extremely beautiful and clean. The owner was just a call away and very hospitable. The caretaker is a very sweet and lovely person. Truly a wonderful stay, will definitely book again❤️

In our opinions there should be bigger pans and pots ;) Other than that the kitchen equipment is great!

Great communication, We were upgraded to the big house without an extra charge, even though we booked the chalet. The house was very luxurious, clean and beautiful (especially the big patio). The location is awesome, just 10 minutes by car to the Drakensberg Gardens Hiking Trails and to a small store.

According to the photos, I was expecting a 3 bedroom house but were given a rundown 1 bedroom place to stay. I can't find photos of this tiny place on booking.com The owner, Mary , was rude. The workers disappeared. We could not stay. Three adults can't stay there. I had to find other accommodation. The lady who "welcomed" us was not properly clothed, her boobs was exposed. Agge nee, regtig. This was a very unpleasant experience!!

Establishment charges per guest per night, NOT just per night. This is not common with my experience with booking.com. Garden has beautiful foliage but needs attention. Access from drive way to house ,upstairs, is difficult when it’s dark and rainy. Lighting outside can be improved. I had 3 concerns that needed attention during my stay, which led to the hostile attitude from Krishen(host/owner). I could not entirely depend on the 3 staff on the property and had to engage the host. He was impatient and rude, to the point of bullying my 70 year old husband. Asked him “WHY did you not answer your phone?” and when my husband asked to speak, he disconnected the call. The booking was largely dependant on using the facilities at Drak Gardens (been there many times). This was not forthcoming , after receiving communication that the “pass is in the house” According to Drak Gardens, a few establishments close to them purchase an annual permit(R1900pa) for their guests ,which allows them access to their facilities throughout the year, including Xmas Day. Other visitors might be turned away due to the busy period. Access to KZN Wildlife is allowed at all times provided you do not stop at Drak Gardens. If you are on vacation for activities, I suggest you confirm the above with Drak Gardens. Mary Anne confirmed the “pass”, then informed me that I MIGHT not get in and finally confirmed that I will have the pass on 27th Dec ( the day after my exit). The shortcomings of the property are not serious and will not keep me away from booking it again, but dealing with disrespectful/rude hosts who withhold important information and do not keep to their word is unacceptable. I will choose a neighbouring establishment

This is my 22nd booking using global online platforms, in the past 12 months. The house was spacious , including balcony and braai area. Comfortable for 6 people. Big bathrooms, good fireplace, very good living space. A few board games available. More than sufficient kitchen utensils for baking and cooking. Good appliances. 1km away from Drakenberg Gardens & KZN Wildlife . Excellent hiking trails and good cycling options (minus the rain). Supply store a short walk/ drive down the road. Wonderful, friendly ladies to clean and assist with some needs. 2 beautiful friendly dogs, who might join you on a walk☺️ Cute little field mice might be spotted in the house, harmless but hide your food.

The house was in the most beautiful spot in the Drakesberg. Spotlessly clean with everything you could of needed. The lady who welcomed us was friendly and helpful. Mary Anne was easy to communicate with and facilitate anything we might need.
