Road is kinda bad, but gets better if it rained the night before.

We woke up with an ostrich staring at us. Many antilopes nearby. Giraffes are coming close, just a few meters from the hotel entrance. Ostrich and monkeys are roaming free in the lodge area. Seen some big cat paws near the backyard waterhole. So watch out. The viewing deck is great.

The meals were good the chef and staff were very friendly. The lodge is in a small section of a reserve, and you get close up experiences with safe animals. We were impressed with the variety of animals which stroll up to the lodge to eat on the wild marula. Most guests just sleep at the lodge and use the extensive tour options to experience the area. The interactions at the meals indicated the high quality of these tours.

Payment at check-out. This was not handled well and had to be sorted out later while on our trip in various remote locations.

Limited range of food choices but good enough.

I will appreciate if Thornhill will put TV's in each room so that we will enjoy watching our favourite TV shows while stay in the rooms.

The breakfast was perfect and the food was delicious. One thing I liked is when the chef will tell us about the menu before we can eat. The waitress were very helpfull and freindly. Actually all Thornhill staff were very helpfull and they are always happy to assist us

You can only get network at certain spots and free wifi is not available in the rooms. The shower water become cold mid shower on most days.

The welcome drink and cloth to refresh was a nice touch. The sunset deck was a nice place to chill, see the sunset and get some network to make calls and catch up on some messages. The service from the staff was awesome. They made us feel at home. They even planned a surprise birthday cake and singing on my husband's birthday. The food was nice and homely.

Nothing at all. It was perfect.

Nice little lodge in the middle of jungle. Staff was super friendly. Anya and Reese took great care of us. Every night the chef Nmbya cook amazing food for us keeping in mind that I am vegetarian. We even saw Giraffes right outside our property. Antelopes were right outside our room. Our guide and driver Sam was very friendly and soft spoken. He made our safari experience memorable.

The roads were destroyed by the rains so we had to go a different way there. I know this was out of the staff’s control but the roads within the reserve were extremely confusing as the exit signs all took you to a road that was closed. Temporarily covering the exit signs, flipping them, or putting up a temporary plastic sign that pointed to the correct exit would help tremendously. What took us 5 min from the reserve’s entrance to the lodge after being guided in by a safari vehicle took us 45 min the following morning because we kept getting lost despite having a map. Some other people at the lodge had the same issue so it wasn’t just us. The next morning we got lost again, despite having the map and having driven the road 3 times prior and trying to pay close attention each time and note landmarks. Again, not their fault but it was quite difficult to navigate.

The room was nice, the bar and reception area was vibey, fun sunset deck with great views, loved the bartender, food was amazing, and we loved that dinner was served around the fire with all the hotel guests.

The road/path towards the lodge is quite bumpy and full of potholes and it takes you about 45 minutes from the main road to the lodge. If you arrive with your own vehicle we recommend a 4x4 or at least an SUV!

Beautiful lodge with the best crew around Glenn and Anja and with Dudu we had the best cook, the food was excellent (so were the drinks ;) )! The room was spacious and cozy. The Safaris were really stunning with lots of interesting information (Kruger ist about one hour from the lodge).

It is good to know that you have to plan 25 minutes for the gravel road to Guernsey and within Guernsey.

Beautiful garden and nice swimming pool. We stayed in the lovely manor and saw monkeys and ostriches from our porch. The staff and manager were very helpful in organizing our tours. Breakfast was very tasty. And we even received a welcome cocktail.
