Nowhere really to go out and eat. Need to be self sufficient. We were so it was not a problem.

The only complaint was the bunk beds for the children were not suitable ( it was not stable) and we had to place their mattress onto the floor as it was safer there and the bathroom door although it falls inline with the design and decor of the room is not good enough for privacy as it closes with large gaps on either side. We popped our heads into a few of the other unoccupied rooms and saw there are a few alternative room layout options with different style beds for children so would make sure you double check this when you make a booking.

We arrived to a warm welcome. The room was large and the extra large King Bed with good quality bed linen and a wonderful appointed bathroom with top of the range bathroom fittings such as large Victorian Albert porcelain bath were a complete treat and what you would expect in a 5 star hotel. After a long journey what else do you need but a long bath and a great nights sleep, both of which we enjoyed.

They did not offer breakfast, but did provide us with rusks, coffee and tea.

In the small quaint town of Richmond, 1 minute off the highway lies this beautiful old Karoo house. It has secured parking, a pool and braai facilities. Our family room was huge and had a fridge and microwave. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The town is nice for a stroll, and there are restaurants nearby.

Our room was beautiful, but we faced onto the pool area and the flood lights were very bright. Next time we will request a room that’s a bit farther away from the pool if possible

Our room was on the main road entering Richmond and youngsters were racing down the road and revving their vehicles right outside our room at 1:30am. I suggest when booking a room that you ask for a room on the other side of the guesthouse if you are planning to sleep late.

The room was beautiful! Entire property very well kept. AC was a great bonus as it was 38’C on the day. Great stopover from DRB to CT.

This is a true gem!! From the way it has been decorated to the amazing staff and owner. I will 100% recommend Three Birds Country House. Please do yourself a favor and have dinner at Vettemuis Plaaskombuis. Also run by Janine. Thanks Amanda and Janine.

The place met my expectations, I liked everything about it.

It's a guesthouse so bring your own food because there's no decent restaurant around the area. There was complimentary water, tea/coffee and wine/alcohol bev that you can buy.The host was very welcoming. The pool was clean and the kids loved it. Beautiful,nicely maintained rooms,bathrooms are nice and big. I rate them 10/10 for cleanliness. We'll definitely stay here if we ever drive to Cape town.

Conveniently located, easy access, secure parking and pet-friendly! The rooms were very spacious, comfortable and beautiful with loads of little luxuries. Loved the bathroom area. Special thanks to our lovely hostess for her friendliness and helpfulness. Had an amazing meal at the (pet-friendly) Vetmuis down the street. We left refreshed!
