The website was not updated and quite misleading. Under "Ameneties & Activities", it claims to have an indoor spa pool, steam and sauna and massages as well as Bass fishing on the lake. The hotel seems to be non-functional. Not sure if any of the above could have been arranged if requested through the owner. We were unfortunately disappointed when we were told by independent owners living there, that there is hardly any bass in the lake. Apparently this was due to something that went wrong with the water a few years ago. We purposely went there for the fishing of Bass, and therefore I felt it necessary to mention in this review. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant stay.

The room and bed was great and comfortable. Clean and tidy.

The accommodation rooms was not what I expected as it was outside rooms If you are a snake person than this place is for you. Unfortunately I am not a snake lover, and that was just what was found at our doorstep. We decided to leave immediately so we didn't have to privileged to enjoy this accommodation

Room was old nothing it it was modern Coffee was only replaced once, the day we got there Toilet paper was grey and thin Toilet and basin made a very load noise when you flush or use the tap (you would wake up the whole place if you flush at night) no view literally mean no view Don't think its value for money at all All the pictures hanging on the wall was skew On bed was Lifeboy soap ??????

Plumbing needed some attention, toilet flushing issues initially, but later sorted out by Steve.

The lake and entire outdoors at lake pleasant. Rooms were clean with exceptional warm welcome from the lodge hosts.

The entire set up. The Advertisement on the web site is misleading...it shows you will have a lake/river view, swimming pools infront/or close to your stoop or balcony...none what so ever...you at the back of a huge old hotel building and no staff if you need anything. No lights for load shedding....

I Liked the communal swimming pools, however it is close to/infront of private residence houses. far away from your rooms. This were not disclosed on the website. The web site is MISLEADING. NO WIFI, but website state differently etc...just 1 example, parking is far, no kitchen, no mob, no broom, no braai facility, your view is the back of a huge hotel/building, you feel as if you in a servants quarter...no microwave or fridge...etc. etc.

Housekeeping needs improvement,or at least give access to brooms and mops.Not everyone is comfortable with untidyness.

Unfortunately there was no breakfast and it was not clearly communicated before time.But Steve and the staff were friendly enough to borrow us plates for self-catering

There was nothing I didn't like. I could suggest to have more rails or hooks to hang wet towels in the room though.

Location was good. It was clean and comfortable, very helpful and friendly host.

The shower was a bit of an inconvenience as the water streams rushing out of the shower head fell really hard on the skin, there was no way of adjusting the shower head, it was a bit unclear whether or not we could make use of the pool facilities until we decided to contact the owner, we walked around the hotel area for a good 20 minutes to find the indoor pool. All doors were locked. No staff to guide us. We eventually walked into some residents and they informed us the indoor pool has not been in use for 5years.

I liked that we were in such a quiet environment.

We had a really great stay at Traders. Loved the charm of this hotel. Does not give you the routine chain hotel vibe at all.The environment was pleasant and welcoming. Both check-in and check-out were professionally handled and easy. The room was clean, very comfortable, and Steve was amazing. He went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. It’s in a really great location, easy to get in and out the town to visit other top spots on the Garden Route. While we did not get there in time to eat at restaurant, we have heard amazing reviews on the restaurants Sunday lunch.
