It needs hands on management. We stayed here a few years ago which is why I booked. I was disappointed this time. 20mins to get someone’s attention for breakfast. Towels missing from rooms on arrival. No staff around

The gate was a bit faulty during our stay but it wasn't a train smash because the neighbourhood seemed very safe and quiet.

On a cold night, the air-conditioning on warm caused a lot of condensation.

Good place for an overnight stay with all the necessary facilities. Really appreciated the heated blankets! No catering facilities, but the helpful reception staff suggested The Oval restaurant which provided us with a perfectly acceptable meal at very reasonable cost.

The TV did not work. The guest house did not put the generator on for the evening loadshedding (from 9pm) but did not communicate this nor tell us when loadshedding would be taking place. I think this was an oversight as it detracted from our comfort and experience. I also struggled to reach the guest house - emails were not answered.

Very neat and clean. Breakfast was ample and affordable. Would suggest adding filter coffee to the offerings. The bed was very comfortable. The room was warm during a cold patch. I liked the amenities - big bath with a seperate shower, crockery, cutlery, mini fridge and a microwave.

The boss stays inside the BnB but she ignore the intercoms when we arrived for check in we had to come back later.

Reception lady was so helpful, however the boss / owner is not customer centric, she didn’t greet me. The reception lady was from a doctor she was sick, she call the boss to open the gate for but the boss didn’t answer the phone we have to go and come back again. She must know that customer comes first, she will not loose anything by greeting and smile to a customer which brings money to his business.

I mentioned the drainage and solar light for the outside. We had an elderly couple with us who needed the light ,it was not charged .It is your duty to make sure they are charged

With loadshedding make sure you have some sort of rechargeable lamps in each room ,also you need a solar light for outside area. Make people pay a deposit for the rechargeable lights to secure them in the rooms. Please make sure you drainage from showers is cleaned weekly. Otherwise I am happy to use you again in 3 months time possibly.

The room was a bit cold and dark, as it was at the side of the house, and it smelled strongly of cleaning materials. The smell went once we got the air con going. So, it was basically alright.

Other guests were noisy after arriving back late at night.

Staff was friendly, the room was spacious, strong wifi. A generator provided lights during loadshedding. Kitchenette was well equipped.

Probably Tranquil House should promote a sense of safety for their visitors by introducing safe, reliable rides to its surroundings. Transport money could be charged when the visitor checks out. You can phone me and let's discuss this point if you like.

Tranquil House is well placed in terms of the location since it is closer to all amenities. It is great value for money because the professionalism, hospitality and cleanliness of the place not only promotes its cause but tourism in a small town called Dundee which is surrounded by a lot of history.

The property is a lovely old building, being the original church parsonage, set in attractive gardens. Our room was very pleasant, with really comfortable beds and good sound proofing but, sadly, needs a bit of investment in terms of finish and decor. Our host, Mariette, was a very nice lady and breakfast was excellent.
