How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Probably wouldn't have gone for the celebratory package in terms of value for money - however only a small complaint and everything else was exceptional. No door to the bathroom which is a bit awkward on a romantic getaway.
Beautiful setting and the staff were extremely friendly. Lovely place. Food was delicious and staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Enjoyed our stay alot. Fireplace every evening with electric blankets and comfy bed was great for chilly nights. Spa experience was lovely - jacuzzi and sauna package with a platter. Very nice experience.

We stayed in the room in the main building and you can hear the noises from the kitchen and main area but it did not bother us too much.
This is a hidden gem. We were not lucky with the weather when we arrived there - but we wished we could stay longer. The place is well hidden in the forest and you can fully immerse yourself in the relaxation. The views at the sunrise and the sunset are amazing and also you can watch the birds directly from the shower. The breakfast was delicious as well as the dinner.

Room needs a quiet fan and comfortable deck chairs.
Very special location in deep forest surrounding environment. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Great outdoor deck for breakfast with very friendly staff. Limited but flexible menu (just ask). Monkeys & a few good bird visitors came by. Very quiet and personal.

the only negative was there was no gym which then we would stay forever lol :)
Everything about this place was magical !!!! the staff where amazing !!! Wonderful couldnt have done more for u, he was very charming, the chief cooked us Breakfast and dinner at night STUNING FOOD all freshly cooked. Brenda, Wonderful and chief are a credit to the tree house we are going to rebook for longer next year !!

The private lane down to the property (along the edge of the bird sanctuary) was in poor state. Would be challenging in wet conditions.
Stunning location, beautiful property and staff brilliant. Special shout out to Carol and Welcome who were so helpful and friendly. The entrance to the property is beside Birds of Eden and the Monkey sanctuary, both of which are well worth visiting.

Everything fabulous experience from start to finish We opted for dinner on both nights of our stay great value for money food was delicious. All the staff are warm and welcoming! Beautiful surroundings.

It is one of the more relatively expensive accommodations (value for money) but it is worth it
Very special place in the forest as stop on your garden route roadtrip. Location is great - between plett & Tsitsikama nature reserve. We upgraded the honeymoon suite which was very special - full glass cabin surrounded by trees. You have to be lucky with the weather though, we gladly had some sun. The staff turns on the fireplace in the room for extra warmth during the night. The diner was incredibly good and also the breakfast was really nice.

With the location comes a bit of a difficult drive around the monkey reserve (very well explained btw) and you get to see monkeys.
What a location! Everything is exceptional, the staff, the location (ever seen a swimming pool suspended in a tree house?), the food, the experience. Showering looking at into the jungle, just wow.

The location in the forest is very unique and it felt like being on a treehouse. We had an amazing time and excellent dinner on the sundeck with a fantastic view (monkeys in the forest). This is the place to relax.
