There really was not anything that we didn't like.

The location was convenient, the rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated and comfortable. Facilities were awesome! Perfect for families with kids! The pool, hot tubs, playground, campfire...everything together made for such a great vibe, and the food is delicious!

The showers in the door weren’t anything to write home about.

This property is incredible. I stayed in the dorm, the bed were comfortable & squeak free. Large pool, 2 HOT TUBS!!!!!!! Beautiful social firepit area and a restaurant all in one area. Clean & tidy surrounded by the national park.

The dormitory room was dark, cramped and mouldy (see pictures). There is only 1 unclean toilet & 2 smelly showers to be shared between 14 people. Lighting was dim, and the room/bathroom definitely wasn't cleaned each day (one bed was left uncleaned for the 3 days we were there). The communal kitchen areas were beyond basic and unusable - very far from the main hostel building, lacked any proper cooking facilities and what is there is filthy. Maybe the private rooms are better but avoid the dorm here!

I had a lot of issues with basic amenities (plug sockets, water, wifi) not working during my stay. It's pitch dark during loadshedding and yet no backup lights are supplied. Staff members kept locking the main door to the building I was staying in so I couldn't access my room... very weird vibes in general to be honest.

The room has a carpet. Its musty and extremely small. The bathroom/toilet is not fit for large people..and im 60kgs . We stayed in the Aseggai room.

The location is perfect as its close to all the amenities. Walking distance to the "Village", where you can hike, dine , etc. There is a bar, snooker table and a bonfire for cold nights.

Nice place to stay very well located close to the Tsitsikama hikes, the room was small but had all we needed. The private terrasse was very appreciated :) We did not get the chance to test the pool but people in it seemed to enjoy it

If your a couple and want silence its not the place for you . The food not so great aswell 😕 had a pizza its small and the meaty pizza taste like polony. Lasagne is in pre packed foil trays,like you get at checkers. We tried breakfast also was not great either.

It is a very nice place to stay with loads of activities close by. My room was great and the Backpackers itself is really nice. The personal was great as well! Really nice and friendly people, nice talking at the first place in the evening. Great food. The Blackwater Tubing is a highlight as well.

For my entire South Africa trip - this was my favourite place to stay. We kept trying to figure out how we could extend our time just to stay here longer. I would definitely come back and stay here longer. Everything was just so perfect. The room was so cute, and the bed was so comfortable. They had a stocked fridge for late night drinks. The bathroom was clean and spacious. They even had a walk in closet where you could store your bags. Although my favourite part of the room was the patio. I spent the evenings just sitting on the patio enjoying the night air. I wish I could bundle up this place and bring it home with me. They also offer a really great tubing experience. Our guides were so much fun, the group of people were fun and I just felt the entire staff went above and beyond to make our experience wonderful.

I felt like our stay could have been better. It was a quite night and everything was closed by 8PM. We wanted to enjoy a drink in the bar but the place was like a ghost town despite the owner telling us that the bar would be open. Felt a little neglected !!

The staff is friendly and always willing to assist. Great hospitality :) They are even load shedding friendly :) I appreciated the privacy provided as well suggestions for places to visit in the area.

The parking was a bit cramped. I think if there is a lot of people it can be a bit noisy. The rooms could be slightly larger and the taps can be marked hot and cold.

Room was basic but clean and well equipped. the hot tub was amazing!!! the breakfast was adequate, but a fruit and or muesli option would have been very welcomed.
