Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

South AfricaThe single beds were not joined, we had to do it ourselves. There was dirt behind the door. The bathroom was a bit small.
Generally the room was clean and the beds neat. They had a fan which helped a lot in this heat. The owner was very kind and responded promptly to requests.

I like the location. It's in a nice area close to everything. I like the lounge area. kitchen have a fridge and microwave. lots of pillows on the bed is a plus. the host is very friendly.

NetherlandsThere was a misunderstanding at check in. The girl didn't know we were coming. She called the owner and then se showed us a room without airconditioning. We didn't accept that. Next room was a very small room. We booked a deluxe, so didn't accept that either. Finally she showed us a room that looked liked the one whe booked. Only this one had a bath, while we booked a shower. We didn't think much about that, only to find out later there was no showerhead. So how are you supposed to wash off? Not sound proof, so you hear all planes flying over. They have no precautions taken for load shedding. No emergency lights, nothing. So we sat there in the total dark for a few hours. Wifi is terrible, it falls out every time, load shedding or no load shedding. Breakfast was bad: everything was pre-baked, the eggs, sausages, etc., but not kept warm in hot plates. It just stood there in bowls, covered by plates. We could warm it up agsin, using the microwave, but no, thank you.
On first sight, it's a nice complex. Alicia is very friendly. Sleeping area and bathroom are spacious.

South AfricaThere was not tea/coffee, milk and sugar provided, which was a down side and expected with the price of the accommodation. We also only had cold water at night when we wanted to shower ( the next morning there were hot water). One room only had one clean towel. The 2nd towel was wet and draped over the shower door. No means of heating the rooms and it was very cold. I suspect it was because we booked in on a Saturday, but for the price we paid, I expected a little bit more compared to less expensive places we booked during the same trip with more facilities
It felt safe and secure and a quiet area (apart from the airplanes as it is close to OR Tambo). The care taker who met us was very friendly. Nice big screen TV with Netflix which was nice as it was too cold to do anything else. No loadshedding. Location close to East Rand Mall.
