We loved that it was so peaceful, the chalet was very clean and Farouk very hands on. Perfect place for a quiet getaway.

Such a beautiful, big, cozy chalet in the most tranquil and serene location. Excellent birding, the river and lake were such a fun treat and relaxing at the outdoor boma watching the ever changing weather creep in. My family of 4 enjoyed our 5 night stay so much that we extended our stay by 1 more night. Truly can't recommend this place enough! And Faruk and his colleague were top notch 👏

Well it would have been nice to be made aware of the load shedding schedule because to our dismay we didnt have electricity in the morning.

I loved the scenery, and the cottage-feel to it, Mr Farouk went out of his way to make sure we didnt havw a problem, the place is just the best.

Absolutely nothing bad. Can't remember when last I wrote this for a review.

We expected just a bed to sleep in for a night on our road trip, but found so much more. For a start, the beds in the two bottom bedrooms are extra large, and all beds have such soft linen. The house is comfortable and large. Loft bedroom is huge with several beds far apart and beautiful view. Everything is tiptop and comfortable, we could purchase wood, there are good blankets and an indoor fireplace for use in winter. Couches are super comfortable. Bathroom has lovely antique style bath. Separate large shower. Separate extra toilet. There is a stoep on either side of the house. Back one gives onto the lakes and the river, where one can swim and drift down-river. It's a very peaceful place, and even with 2 other houses nearby, we never heard a voice. Solitude. We had a starry night like we have not had for years, despite many travels in nature. Extra touches - flowers in bedrooms and in on kitchen table.

The sliding toilet door came unstuck at the furtherest end each time the door was closed No pillow slips on the bottom pillows - the top pillows had , but not the second set of pillows in the main bedroom . I would suggest a sign on the fence gate to alert guests that they should actually open the fence to go through to get to valley lake chalets - there’s a sign saying ‘trespasses with be prosecuted’etc - no welcoming sign for valley lake guests

Beautiful and tranquil location. I enjoyed very much using the fireplace during a stormy evening. Cozy chalet with a great view. Very attentive host! We really appreciated his service.

The perfect spot to get away from the city and soak in some nature! It is perfectly located for the hikes in the region but beautiful enough that you dont need to leave the property to experience the Berg. The chalet was fully equipped and we will definitely be coming back soon!

Shower drain was blocked and water was leaking out the bathroom.

A charming rustic farmhouse getaway with all the essentials to make your stay that much more comfortable. Farouk is very attentive and always makes sure you have enough wood for the fire place and if you need any toiletries etc. Always clean and neat. We will definitely be staying at the lodge next time we go! Perfect for big family holidays, we will definitely be staying there again 😊

The toilet door is a sliding door and kept slipping off the rail.

Everything..... will definitely go back again for a longer stay. The warmth of the place, the setting, the fly fishing, the excellent hospitality shown by Farouk, is a definite draw card. There's also WiFi which is necessary for business trips.

Absolutely peaceful with serene views of the mountains and the lake. The kids enjoyed the loft and fishing at the river. A very relaxing and memorable stay. Thank you to the helpful staff. Will definitely go back Insha Allah (god willing)
