Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaNot much that I can say here as it is as I like a resort in a natural setting to be. Fishing rules to be followed must be placed in more conspicuous places, and not only somewhere in the excellent information booklet, to prevent "injury" to the fish.
Road to the resort was okay as the farmers were very kindly busy "fixing" them and there was no rain. It could be a problem in wet weather. The cleanliness and general maintenance of the resort was excellent. Lawns and bushes around the dams were beautifully cut and trimmed. The Managers (Gert and Suzette) are excellent hosts! Fishing was great! 2 dams stocked with beautiful Rainbow and Brown Trout. Other dams have Bass.

South AfricaShower pressure was a bit low but at least hot. Road getting there was a bit rough, but so worth the escape.
Great place to switch off from the world and be in nature. Weather was a bit chilly so we used the fireplace in the room, it was fab. I'd definitely return. Suzette and Gert went out of their way to accommodate us.

NetherlandsMy only disappointment was the limited number of hiking routes. I wished for more options to further immerse myself in the beautiful landscape. One aspect to be mindful of is the condition of the road leading to the property. If it's rainy, a car with low ground clearance might face difficulties reaching the estate due to the rough terrain. This could potentially be an inconvenience for some guests.
The estate offers a serene ambiance, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. One of the highlights for me was the exceptional fly fishing experience. The ponds were well stocked, and I managed to catch quite a few fish, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to my stay. The staff at Valley of the Rainbow were a true asset to the experience. They were not only friendly and engaging but also incredibly helpful, ensuring that every aspect of our stay was enjoyable. The availability of the staff was notable, and their daily visits to clean the glamping tent and wash the dishes showcased their commitment to maintaining a high level of cleanliness. The inclusion of WiFi at the reception was a thoughtful touch for those who needed to stay connected. The estate boasts three well-marked hiking trails, allowing guests to explore the surroundings at their own pace.

South AfricaWe had a magical stay, although we had no power on the first night due to a neigbouring farm issue that escalated to Valley of the Rainbow. Francios made sure that we were informed and went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable. Special offerings at the lounge area and a complimentary bottle of wine dropped off at our cabin was such a great gesture. It rained both two days of our stay and we could not explore as we planned, but in insight we needed the time out to just do nothing. Thanks again to both Francois and Annebelle.

South AfricaNothing. The entire experience was amazing!
My recent stay at the Valley of the Rainbow estate was nothing short of a magical escape into nature's embrace. Nestled far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this enchanting estate provided the perfect setting for a romantic getaway that left us completely rejuvenated and enchanted. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that the owners of this estate were dedicated to ensuring a memorable experience for their guests. Their warm and welcoming hospitality set the tone for our entire stay. Their genuine friendliness made us feel right at home, and we couldn't have asked for more accommodating hosts. The first thing that struck us about Valley of the Rainbow was its tranquillity. Surrounded by lush greenery and away from any urban noise, the estate offered a blissful respite from the chaos of city life. It truly felt like a hidden gem, a place where one could disconnect from the daily grind and truly reconnect with nature and with each other. One of the highlights of our stay was the opportunity to sit under the canopy of trees, where time seemed to slow down. We lost ourselves in captivating novels, engaged in heartfelt conversations, and basked in the simplicity of the moment. It was an experience that reminded us of the joy in the little things in life. For those seeking more active pursuits, Valley of the Rainbow offers an array of outdoor activities. Fly fishing in the estate's pristine waters was a delightful experience. The estate's well-maintained hiking trails led us through breathtaking landscapes, and we were treated to panoramic views that were nothing short of awe-inspiring. Throughout the weekend, we were continually impressed by the attention to detail and the care that had been put into maintaining the estate. The cottages were cozy and well-appointed, providing a comfortable sanctuary for our stay. In summary, our weekend at Valley of the Rainbow estate was an absolute delight.
