Beautiful location, clean and spacious

My inital if exaggerated concerns about possibly being inconveniently marooned out in the boondocks were dispelled by a few trips back and forth from town. Gaining familiarity, each trip of a few kms seemed shorter than the last!

This is a large spacious, well-appointed and tastefully furnished farm-stay a just few km north of the quaint village of De Rust, sited on a hillside from which one looks out over the nearby vineyards to a pair of bulls roaming the adjacent hillside. Debbie is a delightful hostess, available without being intrusive. The first thing one notices upon entering is that everything from towels to linens to appliances is first class! The interior is spotless and the amenities lack for nothing. Tranquil atmosphere. A nice veranda from which to enjoy a glass of local wine. Highly recommended!

We booked this property as we wanted to visit Meiringspoort. What an absolute gem! The views are magnificent and we enjoyed every minute of our stay! The wine that comes from the grapes grown on this farm are good!

Debbie greeted us warmly, she was very friendly and helpful. Cottage was very clean and comfortable, in a very peaceful location. Welcoming bottle of wine was left in the fridge. Would definitely recommend.

The hostess Debbie was very friendly and helpful. Beautifull place with a great view over the farm and mountains. Equipped with everything you need and much more. You can just relax and enjoy the view after a long day's drive. Will definitely stay there again.

It had all the listed amenities. Was extremely clean For a weekend getaway or a stay-over between cities, this is a most definite. A quite getaway in the nature with the most beautiful sunsets You will not get a TV here. And a TV is not expected to be here, you are here for a break from the chaos

Peaceful amongst the vines and views of the mountains. Well equipped with everything you need to self cater. Very comfortable bed , Not far to De Rust where there was a good selection of restaurants and cafes.

It was very clean and the host welcomed us in a friendly manner despite us arriving late. She was very helpful with information we needed about restaurants in the area. Lovely fireplace in front of the unit. Unit is equipped with everything you need.

The house is in a beautiful area overlooking the mountains and the vineyards. Debbie is very friendly and cannot do enough for you . Lovely touches such as an ice cold bottle of wine in the fridge and the air-conditioned room was very welcome in the heat. Lovely environment to just sit back and chill

I would give it 10 out of 10 if there were hiking trails and a pool. I realise that this is not a holiday resort so this is not a criticism .

The unit we stayed in had a bathroom in the main bedroom. We only stayed one night so it was fine but I think for guests staying for a longer period this could be a problem.

The host went out of her way to make the experience pleasant and comfortable .

The roads on the farm are gravel and not suitable for your sportscar. No cell phone coverage but good wifi is available.

The cottage has a private setting on a farm in a beautiful area close to town. There is patio funiture front and back. Very good finishes, beautiful somewhat rustic interior. Good info on loadshedding, back up power for lights works well.

The water pressure is very low in the shower when two shower heads are on simultaneously.

We loved everything.

This is a beautiful property with all the facilities you can think of. So comfortable and warm. There was even a bottle of Varkenskraal Chenin Blanc in the fridge. Just lovely.

Everything was perfect. The place was beautiful and clean. The views are jaw dropping, and you can enjoy watching the sun set while relaxing by the bonfire. Whatever utensils you need, are provided. Debbie was very welcoming. Extra blankets and electric blankets were provided for those cold Karoo nights. A complimentary bottle of wine made from grapes grown on the farm made it extra special. The surrounding area is magnificent. Cape Nature does an excellent job at making it accessible. De Rust has some excellent eateries for lunch.

Strong smell of fire in the cottage. Possibly due to wind blowing down chimney and venting inside. Otherwise a perfect stay!

Gorgeous venue, incredible views. Peaceful. I can't wait to come back. Debbie was a wonderful host.
