How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Orientation on the television, tv remote were quite advance, i struggled to look for channels and ended up using my own data to connect to most of the channels displayed and of which some were hard to get to.
The setting of the room was quite well. cleanliness of the bathroom was good.

The rooms were clean and comfortable but some attention is needed to little things like maintaining the outside of the property a little better, and e.g replacing a torn curtain in the room. The place was perfect for a short stay but it lacks “a woman’s touch” so to speak.
It was close to where we needed to be and central to shops etc. The owner was friendly and accommodating.

No complaints. Exceeded my expectations. Good value for money
We did not order breakfast. The room was spotless. Just a stone throw to the beach. Its located near to most amenities eg restaurants. The host Sebastian was very helpful and communicated throughout befire and during our stay. Fabulous room it exceeded my expectations. Id definitely return or recommend this bnb to my family and friends.

Thank you Sebastian for the great weekend. My love and me enjoyed our stay so very much. The fact that you went out of your way to help us when we were stuck and had no one to help us. Your bnb was so beautiful, clean and highly recommendable to all. The location is so great, 2 min walk to the beach. Close to every shop that one can think of. The gate that had no remote it was manual, could do with a remote gate.
The place was nice and cosy for our couples trip. Everything we meeded was provided for. The breakfast was also tasty and feeling, enjoyed that one.

The shower did not have a soap holder and no USB charger station and Netflix did not work.
Sebastian was a great Host, made sure to his promise.

Nothing - it wasall good.
Very comfortable room, neat ensuite bathroom, piping hot water. Fridge and microwave were a welcome bonus. Plates and knives and forks were also included, which came in very handy for supper. Secure off street parking set my mind at ease. Sebastian and Tony are superb hosts and made me feel right at home! Definitely will return!!!

Unfortunately, we didn't have hot water for a shower, but an arrangement was made for us to use another bathroom in a different unit that had a gas geyser.
The bathroom was amazing. Bed comfortable, property very close to the beach. Sebastian kept in contact with us long before we got to the accommodation

Availability of additional toilet rolls would be useful. One pedestrian gate has very low clearance and that could be addressed.
Sebastian did everything to accommodate our special requests. Additionally, we were exceptionally delayed on our trip to Gonubie and he was happy to meet us late and very friendly on our arrival. It was a great start to our stay.

There is absolutely nothing that we did not like.
Sebastian's Hosting skills is Phenomenal. We were messaged hours before arrival with a Pin, Wifi codes and well wishes for a safe trip. Come on Really??? We have stayed in numerous places which span over different cities but never once have we ever met anyone like this wonderful Gem of a Host. The travel was far, and exhausting being an understatement but upon arrival Sebastian was waiting outside for us in the heat to welcome come us. Sebastian generously showed us our accommodations, gave us a run down of the apartments and rooms and had welcome Drinks and Choccies for us. We enquired about settling payment and this Host my God , he was not even interested in that saying not to worrying, just settle in, relax and we can sort out the following day. I really am speechless as usually payment is taken in advance prior to arrival our upon arrival. Needless to say he did not leave it there, he enquired about our reason for stay and our trip, and the traffic, to be honest i was totally blown away as never once have we ever received such a warm and sincere welcome. Further to that, during our stay he would often wait outside and took every opportunity to advise us on places to eat and enquire about our stay. Upon departure he sent us off with such warm well wishes for a safe trip back and even asked if we could advise once safely arrived.......... Who does that? ........ Only family......... and that exactly how we related to us as Family. This Host is simply amazing. Thank you so much Sebastian and promise all future visits to Gonubie, you will have our support as we know we will be well taken care off. You are an amazing Host and an Amazing, kind and compassionate Human Being, God Bless you with Every Success in Life

The only thing I didn't like is that we had to leave :)
I loved how responsive and welcoming Sebastian was. He kept us updated about everything. The check-in was smooth, and the room we had was Ah-mazing :). The place is a couple of minute from the beach and the area is nice quiet.
