Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

South AfricaThe Alexa system was poorly attached to the room - it looked a bit shabby. The television in the room wasn't a smart TV - would have been nice to have a larger television with a smart capability. Really not much to be negative on though!
Breakfast is always delicious! The pool is so lovely and the pods above the pool are perfect for WFH in the most luxurious way! The staff couldn't be more attentive, they are excellent! Will be back again and again!

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn’t particularly like. There were a couple of times that staff got orders wrong or knocked on our door instead of next doors for room service but this isn’t much of an issue as when we paid the bill they took off the room service they had accidentally charged our room. We had chosen to upgrade our room a couple of months before coming via booking.com but we did not receive the upgraded room. We didn’t notice this until a few days jn and so by that point we were settled and as we were happy with our room we though there was no point in changing. We did not get charged for this so unsure as to whether there is a lack of communication from booking.com to the hotel maybe? Either way it didn’t really matter and we were still happy with our room.
The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Who we think was the owner/manager was also really friendly always saying hello too. The pool area was lovely and the time that we stayed it was never too busy which was nice. The whole hotel felt quite private and peaceful which meant a lot. The grounds of the hotel are kept beautifully. Our room was very comfortable and we loved having a hot tub. It felt very safe and I think the staff and surroundings created a friendly and peaceful atmosphere.

GermanyThe internal processes at the hotel left much to be desired. We had booked a Deluxe Room through Booking.com, but to our surprise, the hotel had not registered our reservation in their system. Consequently, we were only able to stay in the Deluxe Room for the first night due to their booking error, and we had to switch rooms during our stay, causing delays. Our friends encountered a similar situation. On a positive note, the manager apologized for the inconvenience and kindly offered us complimentary breakfast as a gesture of goodwill. Despite the hiccup in the booking process, the overall charm of the hotel and the manager's effort to make amends contributed to a generally positive experience.
Our stay at this hotel was marked by its aesthetic appeal and a pleasant atmosphere. The à la carte breakfast was delightful, and the service provided was genuinely friendly.

South AfricaTwo main things: 1.The jacuzzi in our room was smaller than what I thought but not all rooms are the same size as our friends jacuzzi was nice and big but everything else was too nice so it was something I could let it slide. But with that said the water was a perfect temperature in the jacuzzi. 2.Lastly is the gate situation, there is no security guard who can quickly open and close the gate for guests so when going in or coming back in to the property it’s the reception people who have to open and close it, there are some minor delays as they can’t always see the cars and this to me was a security problem as it’s inconvenient and no one wants to get robbed while waiting for the gate to be opened but apart from that nothing else.
Very clean, beds are nice and big and the staff is amazing! The staff really tries their best to assist. The breakfast was excellent! The food is great if one also wants to have dinner or lunch

South AfricaRoom 19 was bit noisy with traffic coming from a nearby road intersection. I would have booked on the other side of the hotel rather had I know this. The terrible blue light shining all night on the ceiling. They could have placed this Wi-Fi router a bit more discreetly in the corner or not so obvious causing so much light pollution on the roof.
The clean open spaces, the hidden away romantic separate dinning pod in the garden, the pretty gardens, use of products from the garden and veg garden. For dinner and breakfast, they were able to cater for my food allergies, gluten free, dairy fee and sugar free.
