Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaWe stayed a No. 1. The only thing that I would have liked is a little kitchen basin so that we could rinse our coffee mugs & glasses as we used those throughout the weekend. Even if the basin is outside, it would be ok. The little lights that is roped around the tree and balcony was flickering all night and I think it can be bothersome after awhile. Also the SPA, we loved the jacuzzi, however it lacked a bit of character. I would have liked to see 2 little chairs with a round table in the corner with lantern lights or candles with our chocies and champagne on the table. I would have liked more lighting in the corner while getting undressed. No hangers was provided for our clothes and I disliked hanging my clothes on a hat stand. I also did not enjoy walking out of the jacuzzi room, go outside and back inside the building again to go for our couples massage. It would have been more ideal if the massage beds were in the same room as the jacuzzi or in a separate room next to the jacuzzi. The floor in the gym room needs to be replaced as it looks quite worn and unsightly when we walked past it to the jacuzzi. Replace the floor or close the door when taking clients through.
We loved to see the Zebra and the Springbok and also the feeding of them right outside our bedroom. We were having breakfast and so were they!! Breakfast was DELICIOUS and huge portions. It was hot but we cooled down quickly with a refreshing dip in the pool and also the aircon in the rooms were such a BONUS!! Braai facilities are excellent and a basket with braai goodies was provided. We stayed at No.1, it was perfectly equipped with a bar fridge (water & milk inside) and a coffee table with various teas, coffees, sugar & sweetners. We loved our fun bicycle ride to the neighbouring wine farms. We loved the jacuzzi and our couples body massage was a perfect ending to a beautiful day. The massage therapists were excellent, friendly and professional. Loved iT!!

GermanyPlace has a rustic nature look. First accommodation was really close to the open field. Had tons of wood mites, black worms and even some bigger insects in our bedroom and also in our bathroom. Switched to the tree house after one night. Was way better and no insects at all. The gym could get an upgrade. Was quite dark in there. Didn’t like to work out there…
Great place if you are looking for a unique place to spend some quality time. Place is close to some pretty amazing wine estates like Rijk or Montpellier. You can rent bikes and we really enjoyed our little ride. The Spa is also great. Super friendly stuff member and fantastic treatments. Pool and garden area is great to relax. Plenty of springbroks and also a zebra (!). Communications was always fast & friendly (face to face and WhatsApp).

South AfricaBeing ill while staying there. So did not use the bikes to ride around the property, walk the gardens and visit the springbok or Zebra. But so enjoyed lying on this HUGE double bed, watching the clouds and tree branches moving above my head, through the class sections of the roof, with birdsong to keep me entertained.
Wonderful salads and veges from the garden and farm eggs improved the already good food. Fynbos products and treatments at the spa are something really unusual. Warm friendly folk who go the extra mile to ensure your stay is a treat Thanks so much.

South AfricaThe couple's picnic had lettuce that was not properly cleaned, thought the black particles on the lettuce was spice, tasted like sand, turned out...it was sand...didnt eat the lettuce.... Perhaps a warm mat from the bed to the bathroom would be nice, especially in winter, i forgot my morning slippers and its winter, so ya...just a thought
i liked the braai facility, breakfast was nice too

South AfricaThe bed was a little squeaky and the shower was not good, I think a new shower head would just do. The staff at the spa were also not too great, did not seem very welcoming and seemed to have confused us with another couple/ booking prior to even checking. That lead me to panic, meanwhile, my booking was correct.
The facilities were great, very clean and the staff was very friendly. We even found milk in the fridge and some butter in the bread bin. That was great. The chalet we stayed in was also dog friendly, we had a little yard that our little doggie could run around in. The outdoor space is great, with ample seating and a braai area.

South AfricaThe whole property looks and feels like it needs some loving TLC. We also visited Saronsberg at the same time and comparing the cottages at both Vindoux and Saronsberg, the price is almost identical, but the quality difference is rather amazing. Give your venue some real TLC guys. The shower does not have a soap dish or a ledge to put your soap. It's small things like this that are disappointing. The wi fi signal was very weak and not functional at times.
I like that the location was out of town so that we could do some star gazing.

United KingdomNo gym as advertised. "Wildlife " consisted of a single zebra and small group of boks in a small parched field. No staff anywhere from late afternoon. Surroundings were a worn-out farm with half-dead trees. Tree house was very much past it's best. All heavily over-sold.
Good swimming pool. Breakfast was just adequate.
