Main issue we had was with water - not clean (left silt in the shower) and pressure so low it was difficult to shower. Toilet cistern took ages to fill up which was frustrating because it required two flushes. Altough listed as B & B here was no breakfast available which was okay but then at least have a fridge in the room.

Room was clean and recently renovated. Beautiful location with lawns down to the Mooi river. Very pleasant.

The lock on our unit's sliding-door l was broken which meant we had to sleep with an unlocked door and leave our property in an unlocked unit during the day. A safety concern given that Waterford Manor is in a farming environment. The showerhead is no good and need to be replaced or properly cleaned to provide decent water flow.

The unit is big, clean and a good bed Parking right next to the unit is a bonus. We arrived late but Dan (the manager) waited for us. which we appreciated. We used the facility over the Midmar Mile weekend and being only 30km's from the dam made it a useful stay at a fair price for this purpose.

There was no hot water in the morning when we wanted to bath. We were taken to another unit, and the water was also cold. The manager did call a plumber who had to change the geysers but by then we had left. The issue was attended to promptly but didn't make for a wonderful stay unfortunately.

The below is just a guideline on what can be implemented or improved to further amplify the already good experience: The WiFi was extremely slow and I had difficulties connecting from our room - a lot of dead zones. I had to resort to using personal data - Vodacom and MTN had good coverage in the area though. The sliding door lock was broken in our room, but the owner was helpful in trying to sort it out. A few nitpicky issues: The TV is quite small and is very basic - no way to connect your phone or play Netflix. The shower head was slightly clogged and caused poor water flow coverage. The lack of air conditioning or even a fan made it uncomfortable in warmer weather. The kitchen only had two outlets, which made us constantly have to switch between the microwave, toaster, and kettle. There is only one braai stand for the entire manor by the pool area, which makes it a first come first serve basis. A dedicated braai stand outside each of the chalets would amplify the experience.

The facility was very clean and tidy. There was a daily complimentary cleaning service. Complimentary soap, shampoo, and lotions in the bathroom were included - including all the utensils and cutlery needed to cook and store food. The place has a gas stove, a microwave, and a fridge which is convenient. It has a small TV with DSTV included - which gave us a chance to watch movies during down-time. We broke a cup and the caretaker replaced it immediately. The bed has heated blankets. The venue is very peaceful. It has the Mooi river adjacent to the pool area - that also has a deck with a seating area and a braai stand overlooking the surrounding area. The owner/ caretaker did a fantastic job with our queries and issues.

Easy to get to and just down the road from many places of interest. The river is fun for the kids and the pool is lovely for a hot day.

Rooms are cluttered with too much furniture and other stuff. Way too many decorative pillows on the beds, and nowhere to put them. There is nowhere to hang towels to dry. The shower screen on the bathtub is not fitted correctly. It leaks water. No matter how careful you shower, the entire bathroom floor is wet. We had to roll up the corridor carpet to prevent water damage. The kithenette is great, but again, cluttered with useless things. For example, there are three oven dishes, yet no oven. Also, there is nowhere to wash the dishes nor any dishwash soap or dish cloths to dry it.

The staff are very helpful and attentive. They even offered to help unpack the car. Despite being next to a busy road, rooms are quiet inside. The facilities sport a pool, river front, lapa, and a short hiking trail in the natural forest. Beds are comfortable

The resident rooster

Lovely family run accommodation easy to find and perfect stopover en route Joburg to Durban. Our cottage was comfortable with adjoining bedrooms and equipped with crockery, kettle and small fridge. The table and chairs outside the cottage was a nice feature, Unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy the garden due to the rain but the views are lovely. Plenty of secure parking. The family was very helpful, kind and attentive.

I have sinus so staying in a house with carpet was not nice ,also the bath form wasn't there.toilet paper was too cheap.while I think the house could be relevant to elderly visitors but it could be nice if they can place new sofas ..

TV channels never worked a lot of the time, that could have been due to the loadsdhedding, and they must place a little fresh milk bottle in the fridge. That was the only complaints actually, but in all fairness the host brought us milk to our romm and it was late too and he never minded at all.

I LOVED THAT IT WAS CLEAN, AND MY HOST WAS VERY FRIENDLY, VERY HELPFUL, ............we had 5 star bedding, comfortable beds, heater worked, everything in the room was tops. I love the place, stayed there before and will return again. Liked the idea that they had those special globes that go on when the loadshedding starts. also our host whatsapped me the loadshedding schedule, loved that, very thoughtful

If you are working remotely, power outages may be a problem. However, this is not unique to the lodge, but something that is experienced all over South Africa.

Good location if you want to visit the Midlands. The views out towards the hills and river are special. Great hosts and a very peaceful setting. I wasn't on holiday, but it certainly felt like it.
