It would be great if they had small bar fridges and/or microwave ovens.

Did not have breakfast. Location was as it was when we were there previously.

Not enough milk and no lights for loadshedding. Reception lady had a drink to many I would think it must be professional.

Bed was very comfortable and the room was nice and clean with enough towels and shampoo and body wash.

The water doesn't become hot enough especially to compensate for the cold weather.

It is under the process of new management. It was advertised that breakfast was available and arrangements for dinner could be made. Their restaurant closed altogether so no breakfast or dinner was available. Three couples stayed for three days but there was only milk for one day for one cup tea each. No coffee available only 4 bags of regular tea in each of our rooms. The hot water in the bathrooms was a real problem which worked on gas heaters. Out of the three days we were lucky enough to have hot water in the shower for the last day only.....it really isn't pleasant showering in cold water. The rooms were not serviced during the three days.

Our rooms were comfortable. There was a kettle in the room with tea. There was also a tot of Sherry for each of us. The view from the verandah was beautiful.

The entire ambience was of a huge project to get this rather shabby place restored., and while we bought into this concept and the owners' efforts, the kitchen area and dining room were rather depressing and shabby. Hannelie and Len have just bought the rather neglected property with the aim to restore it to its former glory. Lots of work to be done, which they acknowledge. More attention detail needed for the appearance of wooden doors and windows, need varnishing. Doors to the rooms stick and difficult to open. The bar area is a bit too close to the dining area, so if there is a rowdy group in the pub, it would be unpleasant for a family group having dinner (for example). Garden and porch outside the rooms needs attention, but the owners know this and have plans to renovate this area. The Weaver's Nest was hit by a huge storm on the 21st Dec and the kitchen and dining room roof leaked and flooded these areas, apparently a latent defect in the roof. which the new owners did not know about. The staff were heroic in dealing with this, and we still had our supper amongst 'battle conditions'.

The location at the edge of the wetland system was marvelous, wonderful countryside views out of the dining room. The owners, Hannelie and Len were very welcoming and keen to meet our needs. We would go back, just because of them!

Gas geyser didn't work to well. No electricity on one side of the unit. No breakfast next morning due to a relative emergency in JHB. Would have had a manager to sort out customer and breakfast.

The facility is not well maintained. Our room was given to someone else when we got there. The room we were put in smelled of stinky dog. Coffee was solidified in the jar. The entrance to the gate was being worked on and the temporary entrance was a mud bath. Our little car bearly made it in without getting stuck. Why not contact your clients to advise and make alternative arrangements, if you know the entrance is such a mess. Management knew we needed to get out early the next morning but made no effort to clear the road. I needed to direct workers to make the ‘road’ ‘drivable’. The facility needs urgent attention and a change in management. Overall it was not a good experience!!! They won’t see us again.

    Not much.
