We couldn't get the "loadshedding light" to work, but we're grateful for the battery operated light during the darkness. Our cottage didn't have a view because of the olive trees around the porch - but they did provide complete privacy.

Loved the peaceful, quiet. Lots of places to walk, beautiful views. Well appointed cottage with everything we needed. The splash pool was great because it was a very hot weekend. Stunning star gazing.

It would have been good to know about the mosquitoes. The room was full of them. We had no spray with us, so inevitably, we acquired a few bites and were up often in the night trying to kill them.

We loved the cottage. The bed was very comfortable.The kitchen had everything we needed. The braii and wood fire heated outside tub was a lovely addition.

The weather over the weekend was extremely hot (37 degrees +). The fan provided is not sufficient. It is a stone house with a metal roof and not well insulated. For the price per night, I do think they will have to invest in aircon perhaps. Then also: the freezer worked well but the fridge is big enough but struggled due to the extreme heat. Inside the house was at least 3-5 degrees hotter than outside. We struggled to sleep. They also provided Insect spray but the can was basically empty. Luckily we packed our own. The Moskito's was insane.

The lack of towel rails made it a bit awkward to hang our towels. The mirror in the bathroom could only be used with the door closed.

It was incredibly hot, together with load shedding (no fans during that time) made it rather uncomfortable at night. Lots of mosquitos. The dam was lovely for swimming but not really within walking distance as advertised.

Everything about the cottage was top class, loved the plunge pool. The unit was generous and fitted out with everything you need. The gas stove was very convenient during load shedding. Loved that the animals were within sight, and a herd of kwagga even walked right close to our plunge pool.

There was no sponge or scourer to clean dishes, so we had to go buy some. The maps of the trails were confusing and not very explanatory, these could definitely be improved.

We thoroughly enjoyed the surrounding views of mountains, orchards, and dams! The fynbos varieties and coming across buck daily were really magical experiences, particularly during a 5 a.m. morning walk! Overall, the cottage was very clean and comfortable, and we had a lovely stay! Thank you!

The Wi-Fi didn’t work - annoying but no big deal for us as only 3 day stay. We had to go find someone on arrival as they had forgotten to hang our key out - bit confusing and annoying but no big deal. No warning about load shedding (scheduled blackouts) - as international tourists it was a shock when all power went out during dinner, nothing they can do but would have been nice to warn us…also for the cottage to have some candles or torches for us to use when there was no power (the couple of lights they did have for this purpose didn’t work).

Stunning setting. The plunge pool (even if a bit cold!), the swimming lake (surprisingly warm), the braai (bbq). Watching the animals. The sunsets. Feeling like being remote but only 10mins from town for shops, cafe etc. We would really recommend it.

The hiking trails on the estate could do with more signposting and better descriptions. Lacking is for instance the lenght of the trails.

Location of the cottage. Very good view of the valley. And you do not see any other cottage, so you feel rich as being the only one enjoying this location.

Rooms a bit squashed with third beds in. no cupboards. hanging space hard to reach. no soap nor shampoo. Comfortable beds, warm.

Unfortunately we were unable to go on any of the walking paths as they are not well-maintained. They were overgrown with a lack of signage, so we hit 'dead-ends' on every path of the map provided to us. We also would have liked some basic condiments for cooking, otherwise just a disclaimer that things like salt and pepper are not available (we would have been perfectly fine with this if we had known). And sadly after the big storm, the Wifi was completely unavailable. Hopefully it will be fixed soon, otherwise I don't believe the property should advertise 'Free Wifi'.

The absolute beauty of nature that surrounds one is really something special. We loved the indoor fireplace for the evenings, and the little veranda with the option of using the splash pool. Seeing the wild animals roam the land was a highlight!

Perhaps look at installing a hot tub. especially for winter stays. Some comfy couches would be a bonus.

Beautiful home in a beautiful location. I think we may have chosen the wrong time of the year to visit as it was extremely cold. It would have been quite nice to be able to enjoy the pool and sit outside on the stoep. Instead we had to stay indoors due to the rain. We enjoyed the animals passing by in the morning and early evening. OVerall a great stay.

We didn’t have enough blankets provided for the cold weather conditions. We luckily anticipated how cold we might get and packed an extra blanket.

Our favourite feature was definitely the fireplace, particularly because it was raining and cold all weekend. The fireplace kept the place cosy and warm.

Couldn't fault anything

The key setup was great. Didn't even have to meet anyone in person Amazing location. My girlfriend and I went to get away and what better way to do it than be surrounded by trees, mountains, Zebras, Springboks and more
