Both Apple and google maps unfortunately took me down a very difficult and poor road initially, so I thought that was the only path in. Once I discovered the 'proper' alternative road, it was fine.

The staff was amazing - accommodating and extremely helpful. The owner and his wife were personally involved and interested in the guests. The location was great - so close to town. The food was amazing.

Wow!! What a gorgeous property. A fantastic piece of history lovingly looked after. The Hosts we so welcoming and the staff so friendly - cannot recommend highly enough - will definitely revisit if we are in the area again.

Nothing, really. The distance from the center of town may be a problem for some, especially if travelling without a car.

Absolutely beautiful accommodation. The place is just like a living museum in it's best sense. Everything is decorated so nicely, trying to keep the original spirit. Nonetheless, the bathrooms offer nowadays amenities like walk-in-shower's. The owner's are such lovely folks. With James, the dog, not to be forgotten to mention. The breakfast was simply delicious. Whished we have had the time to stay longer.

Beautiful property-with historic charm echoing the opulence of the ostrich industry. A wonderful surprise to experience a ‘feather palace’ as they were known, but with all modern comforts. Very hospitable hosts, relaxed bird watching walks straight out onto farmland. Delicious breakfasts, overall a wonderful , peaceful and refined stay.

What a fantastic place. You feel like in the early 1910. Spacious rooms with high celings. Stan and Bern are great hosts and have renovated the place with passion and love. Thanks to make it available to the public. A memorable stay.

Bernadette and Stan are incredibly warm and welcoming hosts. Felt like visiting friends. The place and the interior are stunning - a palace indeed. And the breakfast - you can taste scrambled ostrich eggs if you are lucky - is extremely delicious. Don‘t look further. Book this place. You will not regret. The location is just beautiful - right next to the ostrich farm. The house is stunning and each room is individually decorated and furnished. Bernadette is a lovely host and really care-taking. We highly recommend this accommodation.

We absolutely loved our stay at Welgeluk Feather Palace. Beautiful, comfortable, well-equipped home and grounds, with the most wonderful hosts. Good-sized swimming pool. Fantastic breakfasts, including ostrich egg on one occasion. We really didn’t want to leave!

A beautiful heritage home restored with love and care. Large and spacious rooms reflecting the elegance of the Ostrich Feather boom at the turn of the last century. A wonderfully large and luxurious bedroom and a bathroom with every modern amenity encased in old world charm. A charming and relaxing stay. The hosts Stan and Bernadette are generous and caring and available to answer any questions or just have a little chat.

I honestly cannot think of one thing I would change

This historic house has so many stories to tell. Elegantly restored and adapted into a stunning guest house, this Palace is a hidden gem. The hosts Stan and Burnadette are just phenomenal at their job. They make you feel so welcome and are so accommodating. We will definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

We stayed 1 night with our family of 6 in Welgeluk Feather Palace. What a beautiful place! The Palace is beautifully decorated, our hosts were lovely and very, very kind and helpful. The only thing I regret is that we did not stay longer!
