Very good English breakfast. The dinner was superb!! I had a fillet steak, the best I have had for years, I called the chef and told her so, and also very reasonably priced. Plenty animals to see.

The patio was just a flat slab with one plastic chair, as it had no cover and it was drizzling we couldn't enjoy it. (Mystery Lady) I missed the fact that there was only a shower, but that was not too serious. From the booking form it was not clear what room or area we were being allocated. ie the Stables, the Wing or the Manor? The booking form does not show the actual room one is allocated and its difficult to understand why a deluxe room, 1 extra large double bed 30m2 costs R3,280 while Standard Queen Room , 1 extra large double bed 20m2 costs R5,200? without a picture.

The breakfast was lovely but average. Not much choice. The room was very comfortable and very clean and the welcome chocolates , welcome. The venue was stunning.

It is amazing that in our present time (2024) in South Africa that no solar panels and battery/inverter system are installed in the dining room. The result was that food was served in virtual darkness. Not even candles on the tables! I also could not see any panels on or near the accommodation quarters. Guests are advised to bring along torches/flashlights as we expect more power outages in winter. My other gripe is that while the food over all was good, the chef doesn't appear to understand the difference between a hard fried egg and an easy over egg.

Beautiful location in rolling grassy hills with an attractive river flowing down the valley. The property is stocked with antelope, wildebeest and zebras and European Fallow deer. Race horses are reared on the property and apparently, hunting is offered as well. Fishing is also catered for but I suspect the dams tend to be fished out by the birds and otters. Staff were friendly and intelligent.

They met us at our car so that we didn't need to walk in the rain. We forgot our cellphone chargers at home. They supplied us with one. They opened the gate when we came in late after the Wakkerstroom Music Festival concerts. When we asked if our son could join us Sunday morning for breakfast but he doesn't eat eggs, they welcomed him and accomodated him by offering him other choices. And they did all this with a huge smile!

I didn't have hot water my last time around but that's not because of the property. There is nothing not to love about this place.

The location is so isolated but breathtaking, every room I've stayed in thus far has been clean and the decor stunning.

There was no one at reception when we tried to check in. No internet and the wifi codes given were only for an hour and did not even work. That is very frustrating as we left a toddler at home and could not check up on them. The water was also not hot in the morning when we were taking a bath / shower. More water bottles would be great. There was only one toothbrush set and one bubble bath but we booked for two people.

We loved the room design and the view from our room. The offering was value for money. All the basic requirements were in place. The bath towels were absorbent, clean and comfortable. There were enough plug points for all our devices.

Nothing that we did not like, we had a wonderful stay

We loved the setting. Beautiful farm, stunning view and peaceful. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and went out of their way to assist and help. The food was wonderful, so compliments to the chef and staff. We can highly recomend Wetland gamelodge.

Menu is limited but overall I really enjoyed my stay and I'd definitely go again.

I liked almost everything about the place. Great service, friendly stuff and a beautiful suite. The view from our room was also breathtaking.
