How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. When we arrived , no electricity. The owner did make a plan but would like to have been advised of situation beforehand

The grass outside was really long and not cut for a long time due to heavy rain in the area.
Lovely old farm house. Beds were comfortable and house was nice and clean. Host and hostess are very welcoming.

Wild Berry Guest Farm. Well i was hoping to see and may be interact with few farm animals within the property. But all the farm animals were in a fenced area outside the property. But there were roosters within the property which was a bonus :)

Room advertised with TV but no TV on arrival. Games roo. Advertised but no longer exists.
No breakfast as stated on booking which was disappointing even though we were notified.

I phoned to confirm that we could come early to get ready for a wedding. When we arrived the owner told us that their electricity had been cut off due to non-payment. We feel she could at least have let us know in advance, as we then had to rush to find alternative accommodation
The owner refunded in full within 4 days

Everything. To be greeted by the owner who was barefooted, the reception area is nothing less than a store room. If you send me a cell whatsapp number I can send photos of the horrid accommodation. I don't know how to attach photos here.
This place is unsafe for human habitation, mold everywhere, ceiling boards rotten, roof leaking, black mold at kitchen taps, damp mold on walls. Reported to Tourist Board. Your company should check this before accepting further bookings. Read other comments on TripAdvisor. The grounds are in an horrid mess, discarded items everywhere. There is no security the main gate is latched closed with a piece of wire. No electricity for the entire time I stayed there and no provision for the rented accommodation, while the main house on the property had lights everywhere.

considering the fact how cold NMR is the room was very cold, the heater couldnt make the room warm and the electric blankets werent doing any justices even the microwave. Also breakfast times were not given to me so I missed breakfast. Place is not visible making difficult to get there if travelling at night especially since the network coverage is bad

No TV, No breakfast available I booked "Luxury Room" - Room could be updated a bit. Rated at 3 Stars, would have expected Nescafe coffee sachets, was Ricoffy :( Normally the coffee sachets are Nescafe, with at least 2 rusks or a biscuit for the morning. No card machine facility on premises

Webpage must be updated - no breakfast is served, though it is advertised on webpage; it is advertised as self catering - only a microwave, kettle, cups and glasses are available. I suggest if guesthouse owners do not serve any meals any more, they must inform you on arrival of choices where to eat out or get take outs.

Crockery and cutlery should be supplied as well as microwave dishes to cook in!
There was no breakfast offered. Apparently "self-catering". There was a microwave, oven, only, in the room with absolutely no utensils whatsoever!

Rain but Noone can control that.
Just loved being in Mooi River Rural, Hettie and her husband were really accommodating and lovely people to talk too. We were very happy with our stay there.

The kitchen light was out of order. No toilet paper in the bathroom. No complimentary tee and coffee on arrival
She doesn't serve breakfast because of covid. Wildberry is in Mooi river which makes it a perfect overnight stay on our way to Pretoria
