How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

There were issues connecting to the Netflix and there was no passwords noted in the room to login like a guest profile which made it frustrating to watch.
The room was spacious and clean.Location was central. The staff were friendly and helpful

Location is slightly away from city centre but still within walking distance .

The reception said he would have whatsapp us the password for the wifi which never happened. I just left it, as i was sick and not in the mood to go down stairs to ask for it.
Breakfast was great, and the room was good, the throw on the bed was dirty, seems like someone eat food on it, but was not washed. The bedding was clean.

Sadly the coffee at the restaurant downstairs. As a heavy coffee drinker, the coffee brew and blend is something that needs improvement. But I noticed this is not unique to the hotel, but the town in general.
The location is spot-on in the CPT CBD and a 3-5min Uber ride to every crucial amenity in CPT. The people were great and genuinely ready to assist. For a solo traveler on a budget, I recommend the hotel without any reservation.

The bed: I kept hurting myself on that bed when I stood up. Please get a mattress that fits the plank base.
Easy access to the shops🤍 I also extended my stay with them because it felt like home away from home. Grateful for the staff members, they went above and beyond to help us with the stuff that wasn't available in the room (iron, scissors etc).

The set up of the room and how neat everything was placed. The view was amazing and it felt like home. It was an amazing time and I will definitely be going back very soon

The fact that I paid very early for my stay to avoid inconvenience,and only to be informed two days before my arrival,that there's a maintenance,and I was relocated in a filthy place that is total beyond the standard of service I payed for.
The breakfast was superb, friendly staff and neatness was amazing.The food was prepared as requested,and it took minimum time to prepare.

I did not like the lack of any facilities outside the rooms. The lack of any night activities nearby except for bars. The room is boring at night. Ladies and families should pay attention and be careful, as the windows are washed from the outside by people climbing with ropes, and you may be surprised when they look at you. I did not like the emphasis placed on the security staff as They are not allowed to sit
The location is good, everything is close to you, but it is not a good choice for those who want accommodation close to the beaches, cleanliness, safety, and a room with a refrigerator and a small kitchen.

That there’s no parking.

There was a weird smell coming from the bathroom. My room was entered into while I was away despite the "do not disturb sign" as I had confidential documents.

Visitors who smoke in the rooms k owing very well is not allowed

Leaking shower through silicons . we had small kitchen but without mugs (only one for 2 people). No sponge for sink. No pot to boil something only pan.
They change our accommodation to sister hotel called Wink Foreshore. So my opinion here is not about Wink one. Very good breakfast 3 or 4 choice (eggs omlette, becon, sausage,mushrooms ,toasts) + very tasty coffee or juice.I dont like sweet breakfast, so for me it was Perfect. We had this in Wink coffee near to Wink foreshore. Recommend to others , to take Uber or bolt to watefront or other sights. But we felt safe for total time our being on Cape town . Try ostrich steak in watefront restaurants.
