Old, but run down, worst possible set up with common area/braai right in front of the rooms. if you want ot not you are part of the party, smoke, chatting - all night long!

Staff friendly.We enjoyed our stay it was quiet and peacefull. The room were cleaned daily they left cookies and carrot cake for us over Christmas which was special.

Attitude for the staff yoooooooo ,silk is linking ,shower linking,toilet you can't flush, stoves is dirt,microwave I found the old food there

It’s disgusting dirty on entering the place and you could see the curtains were filthy dirty too - so we actually wanted to go in to take photos to prove how Terrible it was but no one let us in

The mattress was not so clean and the sheets could barely stay on the bed . We didn't have WiFi. The guy who was fixing something outside our door made a lot of noise

Everything, im sick and my daughter. The water we drink was terrible. The braai areas was filthy.... filthy... filthy.

There was no breakfast, the parking was very dirty, the staff don't know how to keep the place neat and tidy, spider web on windows no kitchen clothes provided, the water runs from tabs, no towel rail in the bathroom and towel provided. The woodpecker on marine.place was a disaster for me. I wish I visited the place before booked for my holiday.

There were coackroached. A bad lingering smell that was on the entire flat. It was a combination of dampness small, old wood smell that permeated on the linen I slept in. I suggest you add R100 to the tariffs get someone to do fumigation then invest on oils that freshen up the rooms. Invest on the cleaning material like bleach and sta soft for your towels. They were hard like who ever washes them puts very little sta soft. Glodina always do specials. The towel I had, had permanent stains. Stick to white or cream while. Hospitality and your sleeping facility sells itself. I have slept at so many places ar Margate and yours was definitely the cheapest but I could have gone to Margate Hotel and spent my night in a cleaner environment with no cockroaches. Please Google planet pest to come and fumigation your Woodpecker Hotel ASAP. You will be roach free for more than 2 years guaranteed. I use the same services for my house in Westville. I last fumigation in 2019 and I going to call him again. If cockroaches come from outside they die inside your house. I only buy doom or candles for flies. That's because I have dogs. Buy your reception lady a uniform not old torn track pants. First impressions last. She is a very nice lady but I was just let down by her dress code.

The hotel is located near to the ocean just a walk away distance & it's surroundings are absolutely beautiful will really recommend it for people to visit this place and experience the heavenly feeling of the place.

The bed is literally broken the springs are gone I literally have had a sore back the intire day couse of the bed ,room was small we asked for late check out becouse we were waiting for transport and we had to pay extra 200 plus I didn't get my damage deposit 100 back they tried to charge me more as on entry then all of a sudden they call someone and now it's fine after a big argument if I was so tired from traveling I would of just walked away ...probably would of been better off if I did enede up paying way to much for probly the lowest quality I have ever received in the history of booking I thought it was good deal turns out it was just a really good rip off and to be honest they only care about the money not interested in making sure the client is happy and enjoying there time witch clearly isn't going to bring back many regular clients in the end .
